Now I'm 23, and I'm just finishing my first month on isotretinoin, so far seeing some improvement. I'd say my acne was at its worst last year, and it probably had to do with the fact that I was living in PerĂº, in a super humid climate, in a super polluted city.

Unfortunately at around 18 my skin started getting bad again, this time though it was much much worse. Very severe stuff, kept taking B5 hoping it would do wonders again but it didnt. Finally started accutane when I was 19 1/2. Eventually cleared me up (after 2 courses).
Im on a 3rd course now as Im breaking out once again, Im 20 years old now. I regret not taking accutane much earlier on and I hate myself for pinning all my hopes on Vitamin B5. If I took accutane instead I would have probably prevented the scarring I have now

omg, thats terrible! Ive had acne for twelve years and I thought thats a lot. The worst my acne has been was in my early teenage years. I had severe acne because of stress. Junior high=hell
I took Yasmin birth control and I didnt even have acne for a full year, not even mild acne, none. A year later, age 22 it came back and Ive had it every day since.
what?! How can you get acne when youre eight years old. The earliest a person can get a period is nine years old so how can you get acne at eight =/

I don't know when it has been worst maybe it was last year and this year because it seems out of control. Where I used to only get it on my cheeks occasionally, I started to get it on my forehead, than on my chin, and sometimes on my nose. It sucks ass to have acne and then look around at other people who have perfect skin complain about a stupid mole or getting sun burned. I know I don't have it as bad as some people but it still angers me when people with one pimple think they have acne! Well anywho I hope you all win you're long or short battles with acne...I wish you all the best of luck.
I hate when people do that too! OMG, I have one pimple oh no! Try getting ten new pimples every single day.

My mom never had acne either until she turned 28. Apparently her sister had given her this cleanser for her face full of fragrance. It didnt agree with her skin and she broke out everyday for a year and then it stopped. I wish I had her skin urgh

wow! I hope I have skin like that where one day it just stops. That doesn't sound like my luck though. Also, I couldn't help but notice your picture. I work for Nick Arrojo. He is on WNTW.

Finally, it returned again and continues to be a battle with some better, short-lived periods.
All total: twenty-three years of breakouts...
Joyful....

1) my face stays continuously oily,
2) I've avoided fat-stretch/lean-collapse skin-stress cycling, and
3) early in life I decided to avoid furrowing my forehead because I saw how it causes persistent disfiguring forehead wrinkles. At one time I demonstrated to a 22 year old weight training friend that he could hold a dime in one of his forehead wrinkles! That incident occurred about 30 years ago , I can only wonder how his forehead appears today. Yet my forehead doesn't have a wrinkle due to very-intensional self restraint which became a lifestyle habit.
I've spent money with numerous dermatologists over the decades. When offered, I've refused to take acutane because I didn't want to risk the permanent changes I saw in others who tried it.
I'm confident that symptoms which different individuals reference as acne are NOT all identical nor are all underlying causes the same. Even acne experienced by an individual may evolve through time as my case has demonstrated. Through time, the most frequently targeted areas can migrate as can how symptoms occur. The simplistic assumption that one management strategy is ideal for all acne sufferers seems too simplistic to me.
