I've always had mild acne and veryy oily skin. Two years ago I was put on yasmin to help treat endometriosis and acne. For the year that I was on yasmin it helped tremendously with acne and oil production, unfortunately I had to stop taking it because of negative side effects.

In August my doctor put me on loestrin 21 1/20 to help with the endometriosis. Soon after I started taking the loestrin my face began to break out like crazy (lots of cysts and tiny pimple underneath the surface which made my skin look my chicken skin). I went to the dermatologist and she told me that loestrin has a high level of androgens in it which could be leading to my breakouts. She prescribed me spiro and I went home. After a month of spiro the acne was still getting worse so I contacted my doctor and he took me off of the loestrin and put me on mircette.

So far I've been on spiro for 2 months and on mircette for 1 month. My skin is not getting as many cysts and the oil production has drastically decreased, but my skin still looks all bumpy like chicken skin. I'm 100% positive that this was caused by the loestrin because although I've always suffered from acne, for the most part my skin was smooth. So I guess my question is how long will it take before this goes away? I've heard that it takes 3 months for a birth control to get out of your system, so maybe the loestrin is still in my system and causing this? Is there anything I can do to make my skin smooth again?
