I am 32 and have had hormonal acne (cystic, mainly on chin) for 19 years and NOTHING has worked (pills, bc, accutane, topical) until Spironolactone. 100 mg/day and I am clear, it's AMAZING. BUT I have read about all the concerns that is causes tumors. I see that it is banned in some countries but it looks like that has to do with athletes abusing it.
Bottom line: Is the risk worth it? Obviously acne treatment is not medically necessary. All internet research I've done seems to be at least several years old. Any responses from docs/nurses would be especially welcome!
