I am thinking of starting this BCP soon but I am so scared of IB. My acne already is quite bad but it is clearing up on minocycline and I am afraid of it becoming really bad again. I work as a teacher in a really difficult school and having acne doesnt help my confidence at all. If Diane 35 doesnt work, I am thinking of going on accutane.
Also my acne seems to be leaving lot of scars now that I am older, 29.
My pictures are posted in the gallery. Do you guys think diane 35 will help me or is accutane the only way out of this misery?
BTW my dad also had acne in college and do did my brother. My dad's sister (aunt) also had acne, so my acne is probably genetic.

I've been on Diane before and it worked great for me. If you have hormonal acne then it should clear it up in no time. smile.gif

As for when I first started the pills, I honestly didn't really notice a change in my acne the first month of taking the pills. Once I was on the second month, I noticed that my acne started to clear up and I especially noticed a tremendous difference in how much the oil in my face, shoulders and back lessened. After the three month mark, my skin was actually clear!

Mine wasn't so bad. Mostly I just got some nasty big spots on my chin, but my skin got less oily really quickly and any break outs that I did get didn't take long to clear up. About half way into my second month I could definately notice a difference and people were commenting on it too. I'm nearly finished month 2 now, I've got one pimple coming up on on my cheek and I have some patches that are recovering from repeated breakouts, plus some red marks. I haven't been this clear in years. Which is all great, but remember that there're heaps of other possible side effects. I want to come off it as soon as I can.
