Hey guys, I sometimes get these "wannabe pimples"...theyre not really cysts although they are large...theyre almost like lumpy skin that doesnt have a head and usually go away in a day or two...i applied retin a micro to the "thing" in the morning and afternoon and some benzaclin(prescription benzyl peroxide lotion my dermatologist prescribed) on day 3 the thing was basically gone but very dry and peely ,i guess from the pimple medications i used trying to make sure that sucker went down...today i take a shower and every now and then I always get too rough, somehow the "clear scab" or thin flaky skin covering the wound that was once a pimple came off a tiny part of it bled, the skin looks a little raw and uneven with the rest of my skin as if theres a scar...i know that i have to wait and see how it heals but I was wondering if anyone knows any great OTC medications that help healing and prevent scarring...I have an antibacterial johnson and johnson cream for wounds but i heard theres a new spenco healing cream (not the kind fo keloids, or scars that already exist) the new kind that promotes healing and helps you nott o scar) anyone have any suggestions? thanx and sorry this is so long...i tend to write novels all the time when i simply want to ask a question lol

I use the 2nd skin quick heal with hyaluronan. It's great! It's clear, and I really think it does help speed the healing process. At the very least it is protective, and you don't have to worry about reactions to an antibiotic ointment(many doc's don't use antibiotic ointments after invasive procedures for fear of an adverse reaction to the antibiotic).

Emma

P.S- I should really try the spenco for raised scarring =P~

Do you think you get the breakout from TCA or the benefit?

Spenco isn't gooey at all. Have you tried the BeneFit yet?

Hi Emma

I haven't received the BeneFit stuff yet - I literally just ordered it when I posted! Spenco isn't available in the UK and the Benefit stuff had quite good reviews about stopping breakouts on makeupalley.com

I've had 3 breakouts in the last 2 months:

1. On starting the Chinese Bitters (for liver detox/flushing) .. I had a few breakouts from on my neck and chin (which I never had before!!!!!)

2. From the TCA complex, I had a breakout on the outside of my cheeks (still recovering)

3. Last few days, I've had a lot of whiteheads from using the Creme De La Mer cream.

I am doing the liver/gall bladder flush this weekend .... I really hope I do not break out from that.

I really like épithélilale cream by A-Derma. It contains realba oatmeal, vitamins and retinol. It is prescribed in France to speed healing of wounds after surgery, and it sure speeds healing of acne lesions. Not sure you can get it outside europe tough.

Maya,

Good luck with the "BeneFit." Let me know how it goes.

I remember I used to break out a bit from the Lactic acid peels a bit. I broke out regularly back then because the RAM wasn't working well enough, so I can't really blame the Lactic peels. I think when you use anything that really gets into the pores and exfoliates it can cause breakouts from bringing stuff trapped underneath the pores up to the surface.

Once I'm sufficently certain I'm clear from the tazorac I'm going to start adding things to my regimen one by one, and then I'll know exactly what's breaking me out....kind of like an elimination diet for the skin. I'm adding supplements first.

Are you still using the oral hyalauronic acid?

I started it for 1 week, then thought maybe I'd save it and start after a few liver flushes. On the research done on liver flushing, it seems that supplements will be more effective afterwards.

For the last few weeks, I have mainly only used the ReVive ... I really like it, I got loads and loads of free samples and when they're used up will either try and score more free samples or give up (way too expensive to buy!!)

Hey Maya...I just wanted to say that whenever I do a TCA cross, some of the scars i treat develop pimples , or some kind of bumps, either right on the scar area or around it...they look like bumpy skin....Maybe the TCA does that to you? luckily these bumps that I get go away within 2 days sometimes the very next day! odd isnt it lol? ok good luck girl
bye

I'm in the UK and the only place that sells it is Space NK ... I phoned a few branches up and each sent me samples.

Hi emmanuel..I wanted to try the Spenco fast healing gel but couldnt find it at CVS or Eckerds....I was wondering where you purchased yours...awhile ago, i bought the other spenco gel for a keloid on my arm (i dont have keloids on my face though, theyre all pits)and it did help the scar flatten and even lighten...I have this new wound from overuse of a new extra strength clearasil and its pretty horrific and im interested in getting something that will heal it up so it doesnt scar badly...thanx smile.gif
