I've had acne since I was 15. The only time I can honestly say that I was 100% acne free was during my 2nd pregnancy (age 28). The whole time and even while I was breastfeeding, I was completely clear without using anything for my skin. It was amazing! Now, of course, my acne has returned and I'm starting to wonder if my persistant acne could be caused by hormones. I've tried every presciption you can possible imagine from differin to antibiotics. Nothing has ever worked for me except accutane. The pimples just keep coming. The reason I am confused is b/c all the signs show me that my acne is hormonal (why else would my skin completely clear during pregnancy?) but I've found that the birthcontrol pill has had no effect on my acne whatsoever. I've even tried Diane 35 for 8 months with no results. My skin is extremely oily. I remember during the same pregnancy I had an ultrasound done to diagnose some pain I was having and the doctor told me I had a cyst in my ovary. Does this sound like hormonal acne? Can someone please help me?
is my acne hormonal?

But if it's hormonal, then why did Diane 35 not work? Isn't spiro based on the same principle?

Well initially I thought that it sounded hormonal as well, but it's interesting what you said about Diane35 not working - like when you are pregnant, Diane35 inhibits the production of certain hormones as it fools the body into thinking it is pregnant, therefore I would have thought that if your acne cleared when your WERE pregnant that it would have also cleared whilst on Diane35. How long were you on Diane35 for - They say it takes at least 3 months to get it 50% clear so perhaps you didn't give it long enough?
