yes. i've been on Bactrim since september, and Yaz since November.
i heavily interrogated both my derm and my ob/gyn about the interaction. apparently there isn't one. i've been told that the antiobiotics which interrupt birth control effectiveness are those in the penicillin family.

Did your OB/GYN say it is safe to have sex while on the Bactrim (on birth control)? I just started Bactrim DS today and I take Aviane for birth control. Did they say you need a back-up method?

I've been put on bactrim several times for UTI's while using birth control pills and all of my doctors and pharmasists have told me that it would not decrease the effectiveness of the birth control pill.
I wasn't aware that you could use bactrim for acne? If so, that would be amazing! I'm looking into getting on an antibiotic to control breakouts, but I'm also on spironolactone and it's been making my cycle very irregular so I need to get on the pill. I also would like to have sex and not worry about an antibiotic decreasing it's effectiveness.....
