Hi,
My dr prescribed me Ortho Tri-Cyclen, which I requested for BP to help control my hormonal acne. My pharmacist gave me the generic version of Ortho Tri-Cyclen which is called Tri-Sprintec. I looked it up online and their Web states that this is a generic version of Ortho Tri-Cyclen that is also used to treat acne.
Has anyone here used this generic version called Tri-Sprintec and was it effective in helping your hormonal acne? Is it just as effective as Ortho Tri-Cyclen?
Thanks for any info!
Has anyone used the generic brand of Ortho Tri-Cyclen

i've been on trisprintec for a few years or so now, but i'm also on accutane too.
i can tell you when i tried to stop taking birth control for a month my face broke out even worse, so the birth control was obviously helping with something.

I took ortho a few years back and it really helped with my acne... i got the generic on accident one time and it gave me hot flashes so i went back and got the name brand and fixed the hot flash problem.

I was on Ortho tri cyclen years ago and then I was given Tri-Sprintec and then Trinessa. I didnt have clear skin on ortho but it was much better and then they gave me the tri-sprintec and my face got a little worse and then they gave me trinessa and it got the worst it has ever been. I switched to yaz but then got a superficial phelbitis so I am not allowed on any hormonal birth control ever again. So who knows maybe my skin will get better without being on the pill. If not I am getting that paragrad IUD and then getting accutane.
I would suggest you take ortho tri-cylen and tell them you refuse to have the generic.
