Well... this is my journey. I hope you all decide to read this and respond. I'm actually pretty upset about this all.
I'm fourteen years old, almost fifteen. I started to get mild acne when I was ten and a half. When I was about 12 1/2 I was sent to the Dermatologist. Over the course of about what? Give or take two years, I have been put on many lotions, potions, pills and whatever else. Until this year I was put on Retin A Micro, Tazorac, Benzaclin, and now Differin.
I have very sensitive skin. It is also very oily, about twice as bad as what oily skin would be referred to as. I don't have a major problem with pimples more whiteheads than anything. Retin-A worked a little, then stopped. Tazorac actually made my skin look normal and not an oil slick. But still it didn't help in the whitehead department. And Benzaclin, well it just didn't work. I'm now on Differin starting today, and I want to know if this had any luck for you.
I know my skin is not nearly as bad for Accutane, but if this doesn't work, then what will?
I know most of you will read this and not even reply, but PLEASEEEEE reply, I just want to know your fails/success stories on all these products!
I've been put on so many medications, I'm about to cry. Please read.

Yes, I'm taking Sulformethaxzole (sp.) I've been taking it since I was twelve. I go to my Derma every two months and he doesn't mention anything too important to me, really. It's not like I can switch though, I'm fourteen, I have to go wherever my parents tell me to go.

The most important aspect of Differin is your ability to, and i hate to say this, stick with it through the bad parts. For the first few weeks, especially, it will get worse. The two words to tell yourself: Don't Despair. The medication will unclog your pores but it will take time.... something like 8-12 weeks is what they recommend for results. I'm in week 1.5 of Differin right now and am going to buckle up for the ride. It sucks right now, but things will get better if I don't panic and keep this up through Jan. '09. Good luck in your treatment!

I know what you're going through and it sucks. :[
I tried Differin, but I didn't really see any results. It's different for everyone though. I hope it works out for you!
