It's probably obvious that stopping and restarting the pill several times is not a good thing. Has anyone ever taken the pill for a few months and then stopped because of side effects but then decided to give it a try again a month or so later? I've been on spiro consistently for about 9 months now, 100 mg.
I was on Yaz earlier this year and the nausea, appetite loss and acne were unbearable so I stopped after just three months.
After a two month break I went on orthotricyclen, which I had taken in the past (well over a year ago) and it had been pretty good for my skin.
After three months on ortho I remembered why I got off it the last time--major female issues with dryness and moodiness.
I've been off ortho now for about two months but I never told my doctor I got off. I'm not sure I'll get back on ANY pill, but I'm just wondering what this stopping and starting is doing to my hormones.

Thanks for sharing! Just wondering because my hair has been dramatically thinning (while consistently on 100mg spiro) so I wondered if the on and off bcps might be to blame. I would prefer to stay off the pill for good now, but since going off trisprintec in Sept my period is now late and I don't know if it will be on an eratic schedule or no period at all now if I just stay on spiro with no bcps. Then again, I'm afraid if I go back on the pill I'll have another big hormonal shift and lose hair even faster!
