Hi all,
I need a bit of advice regarding persistant redness after almost a year on the regimen, and ive been on only one daily application for about 5 months. I was just wondering whether there was an oral antibiotic which might be suitable for reducing this sort of redness. It is generally a sort of flushing redness, but my skin is consistantly a shade of light pink. Admitedly, some of the steps i have taken to reduce BP redness have helped a bit, such as emu oil after the evening application of BP over entire face, a clinique redness solutions moisturizer in the day but i still experience it enough for me to want to fix it. Im pretty sure it is the BP that is causing the redness and hot flushing i experience when nervous, or come in from the cold to a warm room as I didnt experience this sort of flushing 'rosacea' until i started the regimen. The BP has caused this condition in me. The reason i posted this message here is because i know ive been on BP long enough for my skin to get accustomed to it if it were going to. Obviously I would stop using the BP but it has cleared my skin so would rather not, and initially thought cutting down to one full face application might help matters. I am reluctant to factor in any more creams or topicals as i have tried a fair few now, none with DRAMATIC results, adm the convenience of an oral antibiotic is appealing. I am toying with the idea of cutting out the BP, or reducing dramatically and pursuing a more holistic approach to acne control, although at the moment my diet is pretty good (and has normally been), cutting out wheats, saturated fats, dairy products, and refined sugars, I drink green smoothies and red bush tea. In the meantime Im going to start using the clinique redness daily relief cream twice a day(which contains tea extract as its active ingredient), which is how often they reccomend its use, undoubtedly to speed up your need for another batch, but ill give this a crack as it has helped calm my skin in the two weeks ive tried it.
So yeah, sorry for being long winded, but if anyone has been in a similar situation id greatly appreciate a bit of advice regarding the redness.
Cheers guys,
Tommy

BP destroyed my skin, and the redness still lingers even after 8 months after stopping it. The stuff is horrid and i don't recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin. Maybe Differin or duac would be ok, but not just straight up BP. Bad idea.
