Ive been reading all over this site and online about all three of these pills. Currently I am on desogen. Im getting into pack 3, im still breaking out and I am VERY oily. I also seem to be really red, and no... I dont pick at anything but gee do I want to

My dr wrote me a prescription to order diane 35 from Canada (im in the US) but I realized I dont think Ive tried zovia yet... I guess it used to be called demulen??? Im not sure if my insurance even provides zovia. Anyways, Im wondering who has done good or bad on either of these 3 pills and when did they see results if any. I just dont want to waste more time and money.

Im a tad jaded. Ive tried everything. I posted about wanting to try diane 35 earlier (diane 35 vs desogen), but I was nervous about it. I keep hearing so many different things.

From what I can tell, Im oily so Im guessing that is my issue. Desogen doesnt seem to be doing a damn thing for the oil, but maybe I havent given it enough time?? I dont know, I havent read anywhere that desogen stops oil?

The same for zovia... I havent read that this pill does that either, the only one I read that dries it up is diane???

And yes, I know yaz does.. but I tried that and I was allergic to it. I had spiro and that gave me a viral infection for 6 months that went away upon stopping. Im allergic to accutane, and most antibiotics so im left with BCP's. All of which I have tried for 3-6 months to no avail.

A side note, Desogen is giving me migraines, but all other bcp's did as well. I am not getting huge cysts on my back anymore, however Im getting them on my chin now, and I still have them on my forehead and chest. My breasts seem a tad bigger too. Anyways, so I am sure desogen is doing something, just not necessarily what I want it to do.... is this a good or a bad sign?????

I used to take bcp's since I was 16 (29 now). I never broke out, I switched between them many times to see which one wouldnt give me a migraine. Again, I NEVER broke out. Then my dumb butt stopped BCP's a few years ago and I have been breaking out ever since. I started to break out a couple months after stopping. So I got right back on the pills right away, and its never helped... right away too?!?!?! And I ahve been back on pills for 4 years now... I only had a 3 month break?!?!?! I have seen derms, my horomones were tested, everything is fine??!?!?! I just dont get it.

Well, I think Diane is worth trying. But if it works, it will mostly likely stop working after you stop it.

I've tried Alesse, Yaz, Yasmine...it didn't do much.
Then I started Diane 35 in July. First two months were hell.
My skin was saggy, my boobs were sore. I would break out in cysts. Especially on my cheeks. Third month was okay. Now I'm in my fourth month and i don't seem to break out as much, and a lot less oily skin! My boobs are no longer sore and I've lost all of that BCP weight. My skin was sooo grossly oily before Diane and during first two months my face was plugged with blackheads because of that oil.
Benzaclin - really helped clear out those nasty blackheads on my face, chest and back. They would literally peel off!
But like with anything, you have to wait 3 months to see if things work out for you.

Some things I found that helped even more:
stopped drinking coffee
was drinking a shitload of water
eat less meat and fat food
and always use a topical. Benzaclin truly helped my back cysts.

I've been taking generic Desogen (Apri) for years, and really like it. I also take 200 mg Spiro though, so I'm sure my clear skin has more to do with the Spiro. But, the combination together has worked wonders on my skin.
