When using a Lactic Acid Peel (40%) do you still use your regular cleaning reg, or do you take it easy for a day or however long. I use SA and BP washes, and I'm going to pick up my parcel w/ 40-55% peels I dont know if the directions will state this so I figured I would ask. I am somewhat new to peeling I tired a 30% GA peel a few months back, and hated it. My skin is pretty tough stuff, and I'm using the peel to help with red marks.

dont use the chemical cleansers during the peel. I would hold off the day of the peel and at least the day after, use Cetaphil cleanser during that period

I will...I am going to use the 40% today and leave it on for two min. The directions say one min., but I have done GA 30% twice before. I wonder if anyone breaks out with Lactic. I seem to hear more stories of GA breaking them out (me included). I still have a bit of active acne, too. I do have a question, in the directions it states you can use Lactic twice a week, but it doesnt specify when you can start doing that. Has anyone tried twice a week, and if so how many peels did you do prior?

Well I did it! No real stinging except for where I have a bit of active acne, but it wasnt that bad. After I got the LA all over my face I left it on for two min, but it took about a min to apply everywhere (did whole face and neck). Do you really have to use the pH prep solution before and after? I used like 1/4 of the prep and like 1/15 of the LA was that not enough? If it was they really dont give you enough of the prep solution. Oh yeah, I washed with the Green Tea soap they give you as a free sample, before and after. My face is a little tight now, but thats it. I'm not expecting a overnight results, but at least I got a start...I'm going to do it again next Tuesday for about three min...

I've never used prep solution. Basically the prep solution is an alcohol based cleanser/toner that helps clean tour skin.

Do you have to use something like Cetaphil cleanser during the day you use the peels? Can't I just use a bar of soap, and then hold off on my topicals? The directions for the LA I just got say to avoid "overly-alkaline products, which contain soap...we recommend our soap-free cleansing bars....Green Tea bar or Shea Butter Bar". Why is that? Help please.

If you've never done a lactic peel before, is 40% a good point to start? I've used glycolic acid on my face before all be it small amounts.

Thanks for any replies.
