I love the essential fade complex from Black Opal - there was a thread on this a few days back where a bunch of people reported good results. The essential fade complex has 2% hydroqiunone and retinol, and I have to use it carefully so I dont break out from the retinol, but it works miracles. Its a tiny little tube and meant only for spot treating brown/red marks.

I bought it online from some website - search for "Black Opal Essential fade complex" on google and a bunch of websites will show up. Its supposed to be available in walmart and walgreens but I havent seen it in stores where I live (SF Bay Area)

I am using too many other products to work this into my regimen now, however I did read rave reviews about the Black Opal Essential Fade Complex on makeupalley. I resisted the urge to buy.... *FOR NOW* 8-[

i used this for three days on my light face skin because i had acne scar troubles.. but i think they got worse! the scars turned into a bright orangey red.. and now ive waited 4 days for it to come off (the orangey part) but its not... help! i went to at least fade them somewhat in a week...but i tried the black opal essential fade complex on my body and the scar is disapearring! why is this orangey reddish color happening to my face skin only? and i do wear SPF too!

sorry sucha long post! and hi! im a newbie here!

Maybe your skin got irritated by the retinol in it. First time I used this, I got huge breakouts sad.gif . I use very little of the complex, and use liberal amount of mandelic serum to prevent breakouts.

I used it for a short time and stopped cause I saw no improvement. Maybe it depends on the skin's natural color? I didn't like the smell or should I say fragrance?

My all-time favorite, the Essential Fade Complex, should be used as a spot treatment only. Also, you must use it consistently. Yes, we're all looking for a quick fix, but "I used it for a week and nothing" is not going to cut it. For those of you who cannot find it in brick-n-mortar stores, it is sold at Walgreens online.

i think i broke out from it at first as well...i had no idea retinol breaks you out....but just stick the break out through, it should be worth it....

one more thing....you should only be trying to fade spots if your acne is gone..if you still break out, the break outs will just cause more spots and itll be one endless cycle..

you must focus on clearing your acne up first and then take care of the spots....one thing at a time
