ummm more bad news your skin wont adapt in a good way all it will do is make you red for the rest of your life.... not a good thing to do...... you may want to try dan kerns clenser, its meant to be gental (its ph is nutreal which is a big plus for your skin type) and i can vouch that it helps oily skin (alough when i started using it my skin was no where near as oily as it use to be, but was still a bit oily) and removes make up real well

if you dont try what i suggested im sure you will find a product thats good for your skin... it takes time it took me over 4 years to find an acne product that worked for me then once i had they stopped selling it! so i wasnt impressed but my point was i didnt give up and found something in the end after trying 20 odd prducts

also there are still thousands of products out there for you to try.. in some occasions like me you need to buy from another contry... as some products dont sell in some contrys such as we have alot of products not avalible in america

I really like Purpose...I use it all the time and it takes all my makeup off and doesn't irritate my eyes. I would start there.

Getting ready to try Purpose here in a bit.....wish me luck!!!!

Oh, "Warning About the Boots I Mentioned" - Do not purchase. Sodium Chloride is listed as like the 5th ingredient in this, very prone for clogging pores!! I made the stupid mistake of purchasing today, then brought home and read ingredients for myself. I am returning all of this crap to the stores and getting my $$$ back. Too bad too, cause the Boots looked really good except for that one ingredient and a little Sodium Laureth Sulfate (which does not bother me).

How did it go with purpose? I use it AM and PM...but I don't think my skin is quite as sensitive as yours.

Hi Rcangel:

Thank you so much for checking in with me to see how I am doing. You are so nice smile.gif Unfortunately, it did not go well. So Purpose is out too.

Hi again Daniel:

So sorry, I am just very frustrated at this point.....and you are right, I cannot just keep using something that keeps irritating my face. It is all because of the Hydroquoine I used about 1 1/2 months ago. What gets me is I only used it one single time and my face has been ruined ever since.

I have never heard of dan kerns clenser, please tell me where to purchase.

Well, I have been sitting here thinking all day and what I am going to do is tomorrow morning I am going to have to go out and purchase a Cortisone Cream and use for a few short weeks so I can try to get past this mess I am in.

My skin has always been sensitive, permanently redder than my neck, gets red in the sun easily, etc., but I have always been able to clean my face until now. So I just feel I have no other choice than this to get back to normal.

I want to thank everyone for their help, this is the most support I have ever got on the board. It is truly appreciated and I will update on my situation in a few weeks if anyone is interested.

Thanks again smile.gif

Here's my advice: The BEST cleanser is just water. Quit washing to hard! Just use your fingers. It's what people did for centuries before now.

good luck with the Cortisone Cream (what ever it is)

I love DDF Non-Drying Gentle Cleanser http://www.beautyisskindeep.com/277_ddf_211001.html it's based on Aloe Vera and contains Thyme extract to calm the skin. It's not that cheap though but it's a very effective cleanser which doesn't cause any irritation for me at all.

Hi Everyone,

I just thought that I would update on my skin condition.

I decided against the cortisone cream because it can cause more problems.

From that point on, I continued to just work with the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser for 3-4 days and then stepped back up to the Cetaphil for Normal/Oily Skin with no problems at all. So now I am using Cetaphil for Normal/Oily Skin 2X a day. Do I think this is the perfect cleanser for me (definately not) because it contains some Sodium Laureth Sulfate (which is derived from almonds) which I believe Glycolic Acid is too and I cannot use Glycolic Acid but Progress: Yes!!!

In case I forgot, I wanted to mention that I have extremely oily skin with mostly cystic acne breakouts. This has been a difficult time for me because the absolute only way I could get the cystic acne to go away was wait until it came up properly and of course, squeeze it out. I scar so very easily, I am scarred from acne (the indented kind) and have had acne since I was ten. Although, it has been many years passed and now my acne is much milder (only cystic and blackheads).

Moving on, I went to my MD to try to get Spiro, because I think my hormones are playing a role, he refused to give it to me (saying it was for women only with PCOS) so he prescribes me Doxy. What a horrible mess, I am breaking out more and seriously considering discontinuing using. I had taken Tetracycline when I was in Jr. High and it did not help at all.

This is so very frustrating......

Now I am focusing on oil blotting sheets because I am so scared on where to turn next and I am pretty sure oil blotting sheets cannot hurt your skin much. I have asked for requests over on the over-the-counter acne medications board for sheets that do not contain mineral oil, powder, are gentle on the skin, cheap and easy to find.

I am also looking into Neutrogena Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock but have done some of my homework and need to research more on this product.

So that is where I stand now, just a tad bit of progress, but still developing cystic acne..........

Again, I cannot thank everyone enough here that has helped me get as far as I have. I am grateful smile.gif

My skin is *extremely* sensitive. I use Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser to wash my face, and Loreal's Eye Makeup Remover (translucent blue bottle, white top) on a cotton ball to remove all my makeup. It isn't greasy and it doesn't irritate or break me out. It always removes makeup very easily with little friction needed.

As far as oil-blotting sheets go, I use the Clean & Clear sheets without fragrance (or at least I did before Tane dried me out), and they work great. sideways.gif

Hello,

I have rosacea too and believe me, I have tried everything there is out there and have also had the same problems as you, my skin gets super irritated when I use, cleansers, thoothpaste, etc.

The only cleanser that has worked for me and that has helped me control my skin and make it look clean is GEL NETTOYANT by YONKA. This is the website where I buy all my yonka products if you want to give it a try:
CODE
http://www.beautynhealth.com/yonka/YonKa_Gel_Nettoyant_6_8_oz-33-29.html

What you should know about these products: they are not meant to cure acne or rosacea, they just clean your face in a very gentle way, also they contain ingredients that are not abrasive. This is a good option for people with hyper sensitive skin.

About the toothpaste: I recently discovered that what was causing my face to get red after I brushed my teeth was the "cinnamon rush crest toothpaste" , I now use a regular toothpaste with no added flavors and it works fine.

Also watch if your sunscreen (if you use it regularly) is causing your face to get red, the only one that has worked for my face (and that doesn't cause breakouts) is the Coppertone oil free for faces -fragance free and hypoallergenic- SPF 30.

Remember every person reacts different to products, but it's worth trying.

Good luck! biggrin.gif

First of all, dont use a cleanser.

You said that you are just using water?? Okay, good start. But are you aware that even water can irritate your skin??

There is hard water and soft water.

Some people have even had success with doing nothing! That's right, applying nothing to the face (maybe just a bit of water in shower perhaps). This is likely to be effective if rosacea came AFTER using different cleansers/creams etc
