trying out the cheaper walgreen's aha now
eczema has (knock on wood) been a very minor problem lately
just a few bumps on my knees/back of my hands
and i have a really annoying (but quickly healing, yay!) neck zit right now too
and i had a heart palpitation last night that scared me so badly i got almost no sleep
possibly due to spiro?
didn;t retin-a for almost 3 days and broke out a bit, b ut quickly resumed my regimen and all is well now, thankfully
i'm a bit upset im not clearer, but i'm so transformed from this summer, how could i possibly complain?!
bout 5 weeks for dan's bacne regimen + benzaclin (and head n shoulders as body wash, though not as a treatment)
day 94 for spiro
day 155 for retin-a
love, peace, and all that jazz to everyone out there. my prayers are with you all.

skipped a few spiro whilst pmsing and broke out a bit on my chest and under jaw area. still get a few zits on my back but not much to worry about, though i still wish they'd go away. and now i have to worry about exfoliation and moisture because i screwed it up with the hns!!!!
also some under the skin bumps near nose on cheeks, but i thinkt hat they are from dryness/ leaving make-uponand they usually go away qutie quickly
bout 8 weeks for dan's bacne regimen + benzaclin my bacne regimen
day 110 for spiro
day 169 for retin-a

one large shoulder zit from another trip where i was constantly carrying a heavy bag on my shoulder
otherwise jsut a few tiny bumps on back, shoulders, chest, face, etc.
pretty damn clear, though!
back was dry for a while so i've been moisturixing like mad, especially since my eczema has been cropping up on my arms and legs, maybe a tiny, light spot on tummy too, but ot sure
moisturizing there, too, for good measure.
i also realized on my trip that more of my friends have bacne than i thought did! makes me feel so much better!
and i realized how much i LOVE georgetown university. anyone on the boards who goes/ went there?
peace, love, happiness to you all,
jj

had my first week of a completely free (with the exception of a tiny whitehead or so in a nonconspicuos area) of acne free back! some laziness on my part brought back 3 or so zits this week, but the regimen is still working beautifully for me. I LOVE YOU SPIRO AND DAN! on the subject of spiro, ive also been neglecting my hydration duties and noticed a few heart palpitations so im trying to drink up. any tips on how to remember to keep hydrated? i try bringing a jug of water to school, but then i always end up drinking it half way. thinking of getting those fiber/flavor packs to encourage myself to drink more.
a bit of a break out on the face, nothing bad, chest looks pretty good, one or two tiny things here or there
YAY!!!!
xoxo
peace love and joy
jj
and thanks to god ;]
EDIT: btw, i've found i must moisturize my back pretty regularly to avoid the flakies

so ive been retin-aing for almost 9 months now! less for everything else
with the exception of a teeny chest zit now and then and maybe an under the chin pre menstrual sucker or two ive been pretty much acne free until these past two weeks
it was finals, i felt too dehydrated whilst studying and stopped with the spiro regualrly instead of just hydrating more efficiently
then the rest fo the regimen kinda fell apart, because i was having some personal problems
i ended up with small zits on the lower half of my face, some neck and chest zits, and a big back zit on my right shoulder blade
live and learn
though ive foudn that i could possibly get away with doing the bp just in the night, and just doing moisturizer with the aha in the morning (quicker dry time, dont have to wear white shirts, which is easier during the school year with my school uniform)
i think ill try that once im free of this breakout
itd be really helpful
thanks again for all the peace, love, and support,
if anyone needs any, im around to help give some back,

so, over a year since starting this journal... after years of struggling... i am now at peace
i will get the occasional zit, but other than that I'm almost one hundred percent clear and see no signs of it returning (knock on wood)
the only problem area i have left is my chest, which now only gets teeny tiny lil suckers around hormonal changes, and its only a problem cause i cant really treat it too heavily since its such a sensitive area
i do retin a each night, spiro usually every night, but i often skip it because i dont want to be any drier in the california heat and because i forget... the only time i make sure to take it is when im pmsing
i do my back regimen, consisting of just the alpha hydrox and benzoyl peroxide each night, but often forget or am too tired, and unless i dont do it many many nights ina row i seem to be fine
if i break out i do it more or add benzaclin or a antibacterial
if i run out of back supplies i use head n shoulders as a subsistute til i can get more
thanks to all of you and thank goodness this is (hopefully) behind me- its not that i have perfect skin 100% of the time, if ever, but that i feel comfortable in my own skin now in front of others, and that its a flexible program which is easy for me
xo, peace, love, happiness

been a long while
usually pretty clear, but broke out all over my chest, face, and top of my back his week
nothing like even a normal day before but still discouraging
of course, i knew this was gonna happen sooner or later, as im pmsing, this is the week i hear from my early decision college, its the holidays, im having trouble with friends and family, auditions are this upcoming week, and ive been scimping on my regimen
and right now ive been trying to focus on getting rid of unwanted fuzz and ingrown hairs
xox
here's to a zit/ingrown hair-free new year's!

yayy another eels fan! i love that album and especially that song
right now i'm facing:
keeping on a regimen (and actually sticking to it!)
cutting down time on my regimen (to help stick to it)
figuring out something that will work in a college dorm setting
ingrown hair problems
using less bp, because i'm afraid of future consequences
figuring out the mystery of why i sometimes get stomache bumps (or at least knowing how to prevent them)
i'm going to try this as a body acne solution: AHA+ in the morning (though, i swear, i can't seem to see a difference when i use it as opposed to bp alone, but maybe it's just me. we'll see as i use more of it and less bp)
panoxyl 10% bar in the morning (to cut down on time)
cerave lotion all over body immediately after showering
dan's bp at night, possibly aha+ if there's time or my skin is looking dull
i think that should be easy to follow, but i'll need your support!
i'm still going to use aloe to heal, and retin-a and cerave with jojoba on my face. retin-a works so beautifully when i remember to use it properly, except for those dreaded hormonal breakouts
my doctor suggested taking a naprosin every day for a week before.during my period to prevent those breakouts and prevent horrible cramping. i think i'll try that as well.
any tips, suggestions, or just plain old support would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: i believe i'll be making a new log to complement this one focusing on my body
we'll see

stopped the spiro due to issues with fainting
exercising more
trying to limit dairy
back and shoulder regimen of dan's bp once a day and aha+ about every other day
also apply bp to neck, chest, arms, decolletage
retin-a on face
a bit of a hormonal break out on my chin currently, which is clearing up nicely
and some stuff clearing up on my forehead from wearing a tight, synthetic hat while jogging
back had an awful break out around finals
lower back is still getting actives, but actives are mostly gone on the upper back and shoulders
i also was picking a lot during finals, which didn't help
but i think i'm getting back on track now
ingrown hair problems are being taken care of with exfoliation, proper shaving, and permanent hair removal in some areas
peace and love, and all the happiness of the season,
jj

face is 99% clear and my neck is healing
retin-a, dan's back and chest regimen (bp only once a day), zinc oxide, witch hazel on open sores (i pop, but i pop well), and ibuprofen for the week before my period keep me pretty clear
however, to fade red marks and really keep my skin clear, i'm looking into crystal body deodorant spray, we'll see
flu this week :[

hope all is well for everyone!
EDIT: i should mention that i only apply aha about once or twice a week, but i will begin applying it more often soon
also, i tried putting zinc powder on my right shoulder to test it. it seemed to break out more, but then i realized i wear my purse on that shoulder. i'm going to have to try a more controlled test. the powder is a bit messy, and i'm worried about long-term inhalation. also, it's difficult to apply. i use a clean makeup brush, currently, but, even with a fan brush, it goes on rather thickly. i might try just adding some of the powder to my lotion (dan's) and seeing what happens there. i also have the allantoin powder to try mixing in at some point.

found out i am deficient in vitamins B and D and iron deficient anemic. these all are probably in part to a.) my vegetarianism and b.) my general malabsorption problems
i've also been sick and tired a lot lately
so, soon i will be trying an elimination diet to rule out food sensitivities (with the help of ABG Fairie's delicious smoothie recipes!) and I'm also going to get more serious about exfoliation.
back is basically clear most of the time (i can't believe i can say that, and fear that i'm jinxing something [KNOCK ON WOOD!]) my chest, neck, and jaw tend to be problems, especially around that time of the month, which i assume means my hormones are insane
also, my folliculitis is still a big problem to me, though the eczema is relatively well controlled (again, eep!)
will post as i formulate a more solid regimen
love and hope for all!

i was basically clear on my back lately until a weekend without bp and supps
also, just got a massage, and i'm freaking out. she rubbed really hard all over my shoulders and neck, and used fragranced lotion (i asked her not to, but, when she still did, i didn't say anything, i'm a bit of a wimp)
hopefully this won't lead to a breakout
i washed well with a harsh bp cleanser, that i hope isn't too strong (drying me out and breaking me out further)
Knock on wood!
