Okay, so I've been on Yasmin for about a year. Then suddenly two months ago I go to pick up my refill and they give me the generic brand. (ocella?) Two months in with the generic brand, I have two huge zits. On yasmin, I had maybe only a whitehead or two every now and then, but this is causing the big under the skin zits.
Does anyone have any advice on this? Did they stop selling Yasmin or has my insurance maybe just stopped covering it?
I need advice. Dermotologist appt. is Monday....

Ive done some research and it looks like mostly everyone who switched from yasmin to ocella (the generic) started breaking out. Im on ocella now but Ive never been on yasmin before. im only on the 3rd week so too soon to tell much.

I got switched too and broke out almost immediately. I am still dealing with it. I had my dr put a note on my prescription saying it could ONLY be yasmin, no generics. I am finishing my second pack back on yasmin after one month on the generic. Before the switch I had fairly clear skin too, a zit here or there every couple of months, then wham, huge cystic acne! Hopefully after another month or so my acne will get back under control back on yasmin. Good luck!

I was on Yasmin for five years and switched to Ocella this summer and noticed a drastic increase in acne. I thought it was from stress at my job but I'm calling to have my prescription switched back to Yasmin. My doc thought the generic would be more affordable, but I'd rather pay the price than have this acne. I've never had acne this bad!!! Hopefully things will be back to normal soon! Good luck to all .

I was on Yasmin and switched to Ocella and I had no problems. I feel that for some people it's all in their minds and the stress from thinking about it so much/worrying is what can cause the acne to increase. Just a guess.. my personal best way to keep my skin clear is to stay relaxed, and to be gentle with my skin.
