popped pimple still Swollen why?

just wondering i popped a pimple that hurt real bad I know i shouldnt of but i did the puss came out but where the pimple was is still swollen like 4 hours later does anyone know why?thanks

irritated and inflamed!!!
Be careful!!!.....i use to have large pimples on my back and sometimes on my face. When i would mess with them they would leave red marks for a while and now i also have bad scars!
I still get LARGE (dont know what to call 'em) on my back. they are just filled with blood. I absolutley DONT mess with them cuz of the scar it will leave afterwards.
