BP will only make you look aged if you don't use moisturizer.
Also, and I wish Dan would make this a prerequisite for using BP, but for years, before I found this website, I put a generous dose of eye cream around my eyes, BEFORE PUTTING ON BP on the rest of my face. This will definitely PREVENT the BP from creeping into the eye area. Also, you MUST use a moisturizer over BP on your face and neck.
I'm no youngster, but I've been using BP long before Dan started this website, and I look younger than a lot of women my age who have had botox, facial surgery, etc. I've had none of that, and won't.
I avoid the sun, use BP, spf in the a.m. and a good eye cream and moisturizer.
Oh, the jojoba oil is awesome too; can't forget that.
This regimen will work well, if you work it. I've used this regimen without actually using Dan's products - just finding substitutes. When the new moisturizer comes out I'll order the whole system.

I started getting fine lines around my eyes and mouth, so I'm taking a break from the BP to figure out the best way to go about it. Maybe just once a day for awhile until I adjust. Thanks for everyone's posts!!

Does a BP wash cause the same effect? Rather than something that sits on your face all day?

Well, if you saw my post, I asked the same thing: Will this be harmful to my skin in the long run?
Mainly, the answer was yes. But I think I good moisturizer will do the trick...I wouldn't be too sure though.
Try looking stuff up on the internet. That's what I did.

This is all very well and good, except you're forgetting that acne will destroy your skin much faster and far more terribly than a slightly accelerated aging process from BP ever can.
BP is probably the most effective treatment ever developed for acne (unless you want to bring up accutane, but the side effects of that for your skin are just horrendous). If you found something else that works, then good for you, but if BP is everything to you, then I wouldn't quit it for a second because of this.

My current hope about this is what I read someone else say: that once you reduce BP use, your skin can heal and go back to normal. It will be kinda gross on the BP because of it's drying it out and aging it perhaps. My skin got so tight that smiling or making any facial expression caused wrinkles. It makes me really sad actually because i'm so young, but keeping up with moisturizing helps keep it elastic. I guess I'm willing to take the risk for a few months to try to clear my skin, then reduce BP use to maintain clear skin and let my skin heal. Nothing else seems to work, and i'm not interested in heavy duty prescriptions. At this point, I'm willing to give it a good try!

All I have to say is as long the benzoyl peroxide is actually helping your skin clear up, and you protect your skin with an SPF, and moisturize everyday, then what is the big problem??? Even if you don't use BP, what you need to use on your skin is an SPF moisturizer to protect your skin from the the premature aging the sun can cause on the skin, not just on the face.
