Hi all,
I know that everyone has to experiment on his/her own to figure out which foods trigger their acne, but I'm wondering: If I KNOW that cow's milk is a trigger for my acne, would goat's milk cause acne for the same reasons? I've been having some yogurt made with goat's milk, and haven't seen anything bad happen yet, but I know from experience that it can take several days to have the reaction...and then when you do it's hard to figure out what it's from! Thanks guys!

OK i've answered my own question...NO MORE MILK unless there is a soy or rice in front of it smile.gif I've been getting bad stomach aches after eating the yogurt, at first i attributed it to my new running habit but now i'm pretty certain it's the yogurt. I also noticed a couple of under the skin pimples starting to develop which have basically disappeared now that i haven't had the yogurt in two days. I really think I have an actual milk protein allergy...

I find that milk affects my skin the same way as yours. I've had milk my whole life and around last September I changed my diet and started eating only raw, organic foods (fruits, vegetables, lean meats and nuts and seeds). My skin is entirely cleared up now. However I do love a good bowl of cereal and could not let that go. I have this Natures Path Organic Cereal that's gluten free. Then I use Almond Milk. Honestly after the first week of using it I couldn't tell the difference between cows milk and almond. Its worked wonders for me and I've experienced no side effects. The only downside is that it and the cereal is a bit overpriced. A 1 liter carton of Blue Diamond Almond Breeze goes for about 2.99. Other than that It's awesome!

If you're planning on using it for yogurt (if you make it yourself) there is no point in even using milk. You can make it with soy or rice or almond or even hemp or coconut! You might have trouble with the lactose in milk but it is easier to digest if you can get unpasteurized...if you are a milk addict and want to try it out. It could be the protein like you said though.
