Hiya people ive just joined the board the first bored ive joied in my life, kinda feel embarresed to open up, ive fully opened up to my partner on how i feel, shes has bin my rock and helps me. Im a 22 year old guy, who has had enough of being depressed, and feliong hot in the fae all the time, i thaught back on when my problem first started, it was in high school, id get embarresed when a teacher asked me something, and my eyes would water like i was going to cry and i felt a sudden flame of heat to the sides of my cheeks and i could see people starring at me i know they noticed that made it would make it worse, i was younger then and kinda forgot about it and delt with it. But for the last 2 years ive felt really body concious and feel people are judging me. on top of my obsession of what people might think of me and what i look like, i have o.c.d which doesnt really help the matter!!!

Im really down all the time beacuse of my redness in my face its just my cheeks but they get really hot, ive red alot of posts on blushing and flushing, ive red about Eredcane which deals with social anxity which is basically helps the fact you dont care your red there fore you wont be as red, also beta blockers which slow down the heart flowing the blood, ets surgery, i cant afford it and its abit harsh, uve tryed creams they dont work, i know its not a phyical problem its a mental one, its an obsession of what you look like, ive currently bought a download from www.blushpage.com basicalley its stripping all your negative thoughts and replaing with positive beacuse flushing is a cycle, you think your red there for you will more red and so on its very harsh, and im very tired of it, its depressing me, i just wish i could have the will power to forget it and it probably would drift away, im having a baby in a few weeks and im so excited to see my girl, i hope the fact it will take my mind of thinking about me and all i will ever care about is her and her mother please if anyone has somthing to say, please post it would be nice to here other flushing victims!!, i never see them in the street only over weight ppl with red cheeks thank you for reading Junior rolleyes.gif

its not entirely mental, a lot of its genetic as well.. I suffered from exactly what you did for many years but pretty much managed to cure it.. the only reason I occasionally come back to this message board is to vent my frustrations when it flares up. I've managed to completely get rid of it apart from when I drink alcohol which is very annoying because it means I pretty much cant drink.. but I think back to when it was just constant and still feel grateful. if its just your cheeks, its very likely its keratosis pilaris. try and get finacea, only available by pescription, that softens the keratin in your skin making it alot less red. then use products such as dr nick lowe redness correcting cream and dermatlogica redness relief. another key is to very gently apply things. read up on common culprits such as hot bathes cold weather etc. I feel so irritated i'm going to have to put up with this for the rest of my life, but I have no choice and have managed to pretty much completely stop it so its not so bad I suppose.

It doesn't sound like KP, more like rosacea.

Junior, i really think you would benefit GREATLY from mirtazapine (remeron). Check it out.

sounds like rosacea to me too! go see a dermatologist!! there are lots of things they could give you to help you out.
however, now that i think about it.. my boyfriend is really pale. when he drinks, plays sports, or is put on the spot, his face gets red & flushed in his cheeks & down his neck. his chest also gets all blotchy. it's weird, because he's not shy or anything.
definitely go see a doctor because it sounds like it's really impacting your life.

That is what i was like before my course of accutane. Now 18 months after i finished my course i have a severe case of flushing rosacea.

my face gets flushed and blushed constantly. and people always feel the need to point it out to me all the time, and it happens to me practically everyday. it's really getting me down too. if you find a solution let me know.

Cutting out sugar, caffeine, and carbonated drinks has helped me greatly. I will also be trying Vbeam treatments, but I have to wait until I'm six months post-Accutane.

I used to suffer with this for years but these days it doesn't happen very often. I don't think it's diet related and think its more of a confidence issue. When I am feeling down in the dumps it happens a lot but when I am on top of the world feeling happy and confident it rarely happens.

You got to find out what is causing you to be unhappy, sadly it's a vicious circle especially if it is the facial blushing which is making you feel down.

Good luck smile.gif
