So I started this perscription a week ago or at least it will be tomorrow.

Once daily 100mg Minocycline
Apply Sodium Sulfacetamide and Sulfur at night only

My dermatologist said things should get better in about a month or 2.
The right side of my face seems to be doing better its a slow process but its not
as inflammed as it us to be.
The left side had this one huge cyst I guess and its still there it doesnt seemed affected by the medications at all so far. The little one next to it went down and now today a new one came sad.gif.
My chin is really broken out now and my forehead which was almost clear now it hurts.
My mom and grandma said that sides of the body act differently then others so thats why one side seems clearer than the other. School starts next week and I really want things to be better eusa_wall.gif

So anyone have any luck with these medications??

I began taking Solodyn XL 45 mg(p.m.)(minocycline) 21 days ago, long w/ spirononlactone 100 mg.(a.m.), washing w/Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, and applying Differin 0.3% 30 mins. after washing my face in the evening. My dermatologist also prescribed sodium sulfacetamide and sulfur in the morning after washing w/Brevoxyl. However something caused me to have an allergic reaction: @ my eyelids and below my eyes became swollen, red and itchy. My eyes were seeping and my jawline became red and icthy. This may have been caused by eyebrow waxing, mascara, the combination of the meds. and topicals or something else. However, I stopped washing w/the Brevoxyl, and using the Sodium Sulface......b/c it may have been that(my mom told me she is allergic to sulfa drugs.....maybe I inherited it from her). Anyway, the Solodyn and Spiro seem to be working for me, despite the allergic reaction to whatever. Give it a chance. You're much younger than I am:) I'm 55 and I've noticed an improvement in my complexion from this regimen in the 3 week period I've been taking it. You might want to keep a journal of how the meds. are working for you. Good luck!!

I started taking Minocycline 100mg twice a day, nothing else but Dans facial cleaner, and within 5 days of taking it I thought I was loosing my mind. I was very sensative to light, and my acne seemed to be going a way a bit but the few I did have hurt so bad it was uncomfortable to wash my face. I broke out on my back as well with HUGE cystic acne that was tender to the touch. I had headaches all day even when I wokd up in the middle of the night to snack. The part that made me think I was loosing my mind was I felt "high" for a lack of a better word. I knew I was me, I knew I was ok but at the same time I felt like I was looking at me thru someone elses mind. I called my doc on it and she took the pills from me and sent me for a cat scan. Possible swelling of the brian..........I have not taken it since and my doc keeps bringing me in for further test because now I have joint pain and muscle spasms. I dont know for sure if this is from the minocycline but I never had anything like this until after that medication
