How long does each pimple last for you?

I think the bumps that are on my face are mostly pustules, although they are painful and usually pretty large which makes me think they could be something more severe.
Anyway, each one that I get usually takes at least 2 weeks to flatten and become less inflamed. Once it does, there is usually a brownish colored spot left (which is the same size as the bump was) which lasts another 3-5 weeks.
Sometimes it leaves a permanent, small, red mark.
Do most people's pimples last so long? Is there something I could do to help them disappear a little faster (ex. could my immune system be compromised or something?)
Thanks!!

I usually apply BP to these zits 2x a day as well.
I would say they stay inflamed for about 5 days to a week and half, and then the inflammation usually dies down (sometimes the inflammation goes down in 4-5 days).
Is this a long period of time for zits to stay inflamed?

If you are worried about the brown spots they leave behind, try hydroquinone 4%. You have to get a prescription for it, and like everything else, it can "take up to 12 weeks to get full results." I have used it before, and I use it right now to spot treat, and it's much the best thing out there to get rid of the brown spots/post inflammatory hyperpigmentation once a pimple is gone. I work in a medical center so it was easy access for me. Not sure what the dermatologist would say about it, but if you can get your hands on it, it's worth trying.
