I have a flushing problem. When I used to become nervous or embaressed, I'd break out in small hives all over my chest. Now, even when I'm even slightly nervous, my whole face and chest turns beat red. This happens at least once per day, if not five times, and it's leading the permanent red-blotchiness of my skin. Is there anything I can appy to my face to help soothe it, and what can I do to help prevent my flushing (I think that's more of a mental problem, but I need help)...

...It just sucks because even though my acne has almost totally subsided, I'm embaressed to go out in public and talk with people because I always turn beat red. sad.gif I can't even tell you how much it bothers me...

Beta blockers may help you alot. Have you tried an anti histamine? if you have hive break outs then it might help and might be strongly connected to the flushing.

I started getting this in February. Right now, my face is always at least a little pink, and I have little flushes throughout the day. I agree - it's mostly triggered by mental things, like stress or embarrassment, though heat is an awful culprit. Sucking on an ice cube is a quick relief.

These symptoms are hard to treat, but lamarr's suggestions are good starting points. I don't know if it's the same for everyone, but in my case, my flushing and redness are caused by weakened facial veins. I tried a mild beta blocker, Propranolol (10mg), and while it helped, I think it was too low of a dose to do much good.

At the moment I'm on Accutane, so the best I can do for my Rosacea is conceal the redness with a tanner or something until I'm six months post-Tane. Then, I plan on getting Vbeam laser treatments. It's a drastic procedure and takes some months to complete, but it has shown really good results for Rosacea patients. I believe it's one of the strongest laser treatments available for Rosacea symptoms.

If you're not interested in laser/light procedures (and it's pretty early in the game to be considering those), I'd perhaps try a strong dosage of a beta blocker and maybe an anti-histamine (I tried Claritin, though I didn't notice much). These symptoms are frustrating, but there are plenty of treatment options to work from.

If you want any more info on laser/light treatments, send me a PM. All the best. sideways.gif

I would personally only recommend lasers/IPL after you have exausted every other option. I and several others have had their rosacea flare from lasers. If your rosacea is mild, it really isn't worth the risk IMO.

It is less riskier to take a combo of a few drugs, because at the end of the day if they interact you can stop them and things will return to normal. Unlike lasers which can do damage.

Try and find a good combo of meds to stop the flushing. It will take a while but u can find relief.
