Hi,

I am so envious of all of you Canadians with easy access to SpectroJel products by GlaxoSmithKline!!!

I'm wondering about peoples' experience with a specific SpectroJel formulation-- "Extra Gentle--Sensitive Skin, Fragrance Free" in the bottle with the pale blue/grey text (pls see pic).

I can't find feedback specific to this formulation of SpectroJel on this site (or others), so please share if you've tried it!

Or would you recommend SpectroDerm instead? Or SpectroJel "Sensitive, Problem Prone Skin" (bright blue bottle w/ fragrance, purple w/out)?

I have *freakishly* sensitive skin--dry, prone to contact dermatitis, allergic to way too many ingredients to list, and breakout prone (of course)... But on the bright side my acne is fairly mild, in a sense the least of my problems.

My derm recommended this specific product, but since I'm in NYC and presume I'd have to buy this from a Canadian pharmacy website, it's going to be rather pricey with shipping. So I'd really love to get specific product feedback before I make the sight-unseen investment!

THANKS!

<also, I posted on the International board about where to order from for US orders and/or the local availability of the Spectro line in local NYC area derm offices...so if you have anything to share about that, please post here, there, or send me a message, thanks!>

SpectroDerm or Spectro LightBlue/Purple, I heard that the extra gentle is "too gentle" (not as good as the other three, which are already gentle enough.)

After finding myself using cetaphil gentle for many many years and having clear - balanced skin finally... i wanted to try the stuff my brothers were using SpectroJel - so i picked the Extra Gentle, sensitive skin, fragrance free bottle...

It worked fine for my skin... the same as Cetaphil... but it felt a little bit more drying, I was using it during winter so maybe thats why... I think its good - my skin didn't react badly .. didn't cause any allergies... but becuase of the dryness i'm switching back to Cetaphil gentle. Maybe in summer i'll go back to this one. smile.gif

Haha spectro jel has to be the only thing we canadians have that you guys dont! go figure.
I use the purple bottle for "sensitive, problem-prone skin" w/out fragrance and its fantastic! I haven't had a problem with it drying my skin and its sooo gentle.
