Hi All

I have been prescribed by derm , retinoic acid 0.01 % for 2 months without any side effect, and then she suggested me to go up with 0.025%. But I found it really makes me irritated. Just in 1 week, I got reddish easily(like tomato), irritation, dryness, tight. Even I just apply it with very thin layer. So I stopped it for two days. And my face began to peel until today..I know it's very normal to find effect like I tell above.

Now I still find reddish little. She gives me corticosteroid to reduce the redness. Of course it helped me. But I dont want to use steroid easily. Should I stick with this 0.025% , but I cant use this % every day. OR I go down with 0.01% but I can use it every day. Which one is more effective ?

Thanks before

Well depends... do you break out still? I am using .025% of Tretinoin and makes me a bit red and irritated. I am thinking now to take it every other night but I am not sure how it will affect.

Will call the doctor in this week and have a word since its free for me.

I use tretinoin cream .025% about 2-3 times a week. I've been using it for 4 weeks and I like that I don't have to use it everyday.

Note: I don't use the same brand as you. I use Aberela and is probably restricted to Sweden. But the main ingredient Tretinoin is the same. So it should apply to all creams.

I did a checkup and it says.

Translation from the site:
"As soon when an improvement has been made on the acne hurted skin, one can lower the application to 3-4 times per week."

That is what I will do now. So, I guess .025% it is?

Translation from the site:
"The results will not be better or quicker if you treat the skin more times daily or with a bigger amount of cream then what is recommended. It can result in more skinirritation in form of skin redness, skin flaking and/or itching."

That is what happen to me now, I am flaking a bit. So I will not use if until the flakiness is gone as it says.

If you wounder something more I can look it up and see if there is anymore.

thanks all..
yeah Now Iam switching to retin-a 0.01%.. Using it for 3 nights, and still get bad effect... irritation, my skin feel dehydration, even though my skin is oily type.
But I dont know maybe it's caused by irritation that still left in my skin.
OMG really stress,

In the morning, after I wash my face with BP Cleanser, pat dry, I apply with Clindamycin, usually I never get any bad feel. But now caused by Irritation and dehydration, when appy clindamycin, in 4-5 hours, my face looks irritated and dryness.

I should be patient with this effect
