I have had deep redness on my mustache area for years now. It's weird and I've yet to find someone that seems to have the same problem. I'll try to describe it as best I can. The middle part of my mustache, the part right under the middle part of my nose is as white as the rest of my face, but the left and right side of mustache all the way to the outside of it stays red. The redness is the same size on either side, almost to a T. It's always like that, like it's permanently a different color, not just when my skin flushes or anything. It feels uncomfortable most of the time, kind of a burning feeling, and it will go from red(always) to dark red. It gets more irritated when I eat for awhile, then it kind of dies back down after awhile. Pretty much everytime I get out of the shower or sweat there is a white build up in the area that I have to wipe off. Sometimes their is a kind of shiny glaze their too, almost like my face is only sweating in that one area. I have tried many different creams, of which none seem to really help. I have been using a prescription face wash called Suphera for a couple years now. I wet my face and put the cream in the area, let it dry for ten minutes then wash it off. That's what my dermatologist told me to do. It has helped somewhat, at least made it manageable, but I want it gone, or at least have it lighten it up some to blend in more with the rest of my face. The dermatologist has told me it's sebhoric dermatitis. I dont know though?? What do yall think?

well seborrheic dermatitis does give you a red type rash
i would just agree with what your derm has told you, as he is a specialist in skin thus can diagnoise anything alot better than any of us can,
if you think that your derm has diagnoised you wrong which does happen every now and again, you can see another derm or a doctor to get a second opinion for example you could go and see your gp to get his opinion.

I agree with Daniel. It sounds like you need a treatment more effective or you might've got misdiagnosed. I think a general practioner should be efficient for your redness.

Thanks for the replies.....I have actually been to three different dermatologists over the past 4-5 years....all of them have prescribed various types of creams but none of them have really worked. They may have made it less inflamed some of the time but I would like something more permanent. Is there any kind of skin lightening cream or something that could lighten up the area to make it blend in more with the rest of my face?
