My skin can take it.

But will it give me faster results? Does anyone know?

Once a day should do it. It's the quality of the treatment that matters not the quantity. Try waiting waiting half an hour after you wash your face to apply tretinoin to avoid irritation. You just have to be patient. It'll take some time for your face to show improvements.

To add higher effect for Tretinoin, use BP in the morning and Tretinoin at night. I just started doing this, makes you really red and irritated but I think its getting me a higher effect.

As I just typed in another thread. I just looked it up.

"The results will not be better or quicker if you treat the skin more times daily or with a bigger amount of cream then what is recommended. It can result in more skinirritation in form of skin redness, skin flaking and/or itching."

Anyway. my doctor told me as days pass by i should add more tretinoin gradually. It even says on the perscription for god's sake! didn't you read it?! lol
anyway i put tretinoin 0.1% day and night and yes results are better. I'm on 2 months now and i'm barely seeing improvement

It is in Swedish though. Official site for medication information here. But please note we are not using the same brand but the same main ingredient.

I have used it for 5 month now. Every day up on til now I have place it on my problem areas and with a excessive amount. It is until this previous weekend that I took a "break" for about three days. And that is because I was flaking which have gone away now, thanks to the little break. Will apply it tonight with an amount that just is enough to cover it.

Doctor said this medication takes many month, more then I have used it to "succeed". So basically, even though you are putting less or more these first month you will still get better and better result in theory. Right? I don't know how many month he means but, 8-12 month?

And dude, you use 0.1%, you must be having some side effects like itching right?

So your doctor did not say when to stop adding? I mean if you gradually add every night you will end up with the whole tube for just one application.

Ok so i'm thinking that you think that our tretinoins have different ingredients? what does yours have?
Well i'm hoping and i can see that i'll be cleared in 2 more months, so a total of like 4 months. I'm going to stop this until 7 08 months or more or until i finish the tube. And it doesn't itch, it just stings for like 3 minutes. Why? Is 0.1% strong? All topicals have side effects right? And no my Doc. didn't say when to stop (he was really stupid, like, "yea yea take this ok bye" and i havent seen him in like half year (long story) BUT i've fixed myself to only use it twice in the day and night.

2) You say u've been using it for 5 months? how's your skin doing? see good?
In my opininon, you should not use Bp or any other chemicals just the Tretinoin.
Be Seeing You!

PS: i also flaked horribly and trerribly and had to stop several times which by now i would have been 3 months if i only I MOISTURIZED. so yea dude, MOISTURIZE!

Well I am using a brand named "Aberela" which I believe is restricted to Scandinavia only.

Typing off the ingredient from the tube:
1g cream contains:

Active substance: Tretinoin 0,5 mg,

Help substance: Polyoxyl-40-stearat, stearylalkohol, stearinsyra, isopropylmyristat, sorbinsyra, xanthangummi, butylhydroxitoluen, renat vatten.

See any resemblance to yours?

2) I can't say if its the Tretinoin alone that has made my skin better since I have done other changes as well meanwhile. Changing lifestyle, not popping zitz, new cleanser, now eating zinc etc. But since I started with this my skin has improved, at this typing moment I have one active zit at the side of my nose and have been there now for a couple of day. It dies and goes away and a new comes at the same spot. I am not sure if there is some bacteria being spread there. If that is gone, all what is left is some redness, very little.

Also using SA and BP in the morning. SA since about 3-4 weeks ago and BP since about one week ago.

I used to moisturize when I apply the Tretinoin at night but now I only moisturize the areas where I DONT apply the cream.

Any reason why I don't should use BP or SA? I had some bumps on my chin which looked like crap but when I started using SA they disappeared.

Every ingredient you mentioned is the same for mine only in english except renat vatten? unless that means purified water then everything is right. And remember mine is 0.1%

2)I also had to change my lifestyle a bit; No more junk food, coffee, milkshakes, alcohol and pizza :[. And i also put honey/lemon mask after every shower at night. and i occasionally facial steam twice a week. I also have been taking Zinc for like 1 month so far. I'm going to post my regime under.

3) Your telling me that your face is cleared? except for one little pimple? wow so it takes like 5 months... that's kool

Why on sA and BA? well In my condition i would eaily damage my face because i'm really sensitive to BP. And you have to be rational here, putting other chemicals in your face when Tretinoin already is a strong substance will either enhance the process for the good or bad. AND , I guess it works for some.

Ok that is interesting, never thought it was the exact same. Renat vatten = Purified water.

I kinda did the same lifestyle change too but I don't do any mask's now, I did it before I started with Tretinoin.

But as I said, I can't tell if it is the Tretinoin alone that has done good on my skin. I usually get nowdays, about one to two zitz every week. Around nose and on chin. So I thought I give SA and BP a try to see if that could 'finish' it off and clear me 100%. Also I also started to eat Zinc. I am also eating Vitamin B5 since I started with Tretinoin and also I don't know if that helps which is frustrating.

Well I am giving many things "a rush" now since I am going on vacation in October, wanna look my best. I just don't know how I am going to get all my stuff packed lol. So many creams. I hope in the future I can just wake up, wash my face with water and take a clean towel and still be 100% clear. I dream of that day. I think we all do.

Another reason I am adding BP is, I was reading some medical pages (On Swedish) that BP would increase the effect of the Tretinoin useage together. If BP is used in the morning and Tretinoin at night. That is what got me into it. So I am on a timelimit now for one month to see any improvement because I will probably not do it on my vacation, maybe only some SA because that does not give me any redness like BP does and I think SA helps me.

I will start after my vacation, depending on how I look (three weeks vacation in another country) to see what works and what don't work, starting with removing Vitamin B5. My doctor also said that he had something stronger if I could not get 100% clear with tretinoin. Don't know what it is yet.

The chin can always be because of toothpaste or some other hygiene thing we do? maybe shaving or soap? do u cleanse with soap? i don't never cleanse just gentle scrub.

About the nose hmm maybe your unconsciously picking? I use to get them there but they're usually just blemish. If the zit you have ON your Nose or chin is one of those INFLAmED ones then you should do what I do on BIG problems like that. If you have an Aloe Vera plant cut one those things and cut out the top and bottom layers along with those needles. Clean the green stuff with water and then cut a slice and put it on the zit overnight and the next day, you'll see a MAJOR difference. Dude i saw on the news yesterday that too much vitamins can cause vulnerability to bruises. AND it's true with me lately i've noticed a couple of green bruises on my knees. SO i stopped Vitamin C which is good for colllagen but w/e Yea clear skin is one of my dreams along with being ripped once i get cleared i'm hitting the gym
2) Maybe that stronger is either a higher percent of tretinoin or...... ACCUTANE shock.gif

I am thinking it is my shaving foam, I am not sure if its clogging or not because I just got a small one like a day or two after I shaved on my chin. But is suppose to be all natural products but I guess that can still be clogging. I will look into that more today.

About my nose, I have in the past month perhaps get one or two at the most right on my nose tip but the latest at least two month I have not. I always get mine just on the side of the nostril.

I took a random picture and marked with green where they appear:
http://i35.tinypic.com/3162exk.jpg

Well I do have a problem that I pick my nose a lot but I have another weird problem. Always, I mean 90% of the times I eat a meal I need to sneeze my nose because it is just flowing snot out. Well flowing might be a bit exaggerated. I have even got a zit inside my nostril. Two times. How can it even affect my outside of the nose if I am like, picking the inside my nose? But the things you have said have crossed my mind.

He had something else in mind, not accutane, that was the first thing I mentioned when in my first visit but I could see he was very very skeptical. He had a stronger cream, not a stronger cream of Aberela but he called it something else, I can't really remember the name, something like baselim or in that direction. We did not discuss it at all.

I always hear that sodium laureth sulfate or sodium lauryl sulfate is bad for acne. And shampoos, soaps, shaving creams all of that has that.

When you pick the nose bacteria is going in but your finger is also touching the nostrils which connect to the outside. Bacteria are germs that spread. So just don't pick and wash your hands ALOT. About the food, what are you eating? If your rushing things up, it can cause stress which causes more pimples

If your doc seemed suspicious then becareful what he perscribes. Look at the ingredients or always research before applying. There r many fake docs everywhere and i hate those who pretend to be surgeons. lol i always hear the media speaking about a procedure gone terribly wrong.

Yea I checked my shampoo and shaving foam, they both contained that sulfate sodium crap. Will look for new. I mean, when I have shampoo in my head and wash it off it will go over my face (affecting nose and chin). When I put on shaving foam I obviously get it on my chin but it also get on my nose. Theese are the only areas I get my zitz so it could very much likely be it if that sodium stuff really is so bad as you say. I am already trying to avoid picking my nose but when you gotta pick it you gotta pick it, I can't have snot visible so to speak gasp.gif

About food, I am eating the standard stuff, potatoes, pasta etc. No fast food anyway. I am not that in big trust of my doctor either, he also seems to be one of those "just put this crap on and get out of my sight". If it was a good doctor he would go through how to clean my face in the morning and night, getting moisturizer and all that. What to look out for etc. All that I have to look up myself. For some reason my nose is really really really red, I am not sure why but it is. Wounder if its the BP or SA kicking in but that should have happen when I first applied it then.

yea when i shower i try to avoid the rinsing shampoo over the face.
I can't find a shampoo that Doesn't have Sod. Laureth ingredients.
DAmn, i got a new pimple by my mouth cause i ate a CHEESEburger and cheese makes me breakout >:/. Fkn hate it.
Your nose is really red because i'm pretty sure since u got stressed about your nose pimple u added too much tretinoin/bp sa etc.?

At this moment I am not using any schampoo in my hair, just my body. I guess it is not that serious because I usually shave my hair hehe. Will do this until I am more sure in this subject. I also bought a new razor, a solid one not a plastic gilette razor. This is suppose to give a really good shave. Not only that, I am going to try a shaving soap that contains Aloe Vera. Now I will be shaving like old school haha. I will let you know the results after some usage, I will get the package hopefully tomorrow.

Damn sucks about your new pimple but are you sure it was the cheeseburger? I am staying off milk so that includes cheese, I am not even sure if it breaks me out or not but I will not experiment with anything now when I am so close for my trip to Asia. After I will go back to serious experimentation.

Speaking of unwanted big pimples, I had a red spot area below my eye and a bit right of my nose (from looking at the face perspective) for probably a month. It has now starting to develop to what I expect will be the biggest zit in history. It seems to be some red bump with more then one zit at a time... I am actually a bit happy because this will hopefully break out and go away like all zitz usually do and if my face stays the way it is now I will pretty much be 98% clear, excluding the blackheads on my nose and some redness. Might be a little red almost invisible zit on the side of my head.

Overall my redness has gone down, I suspect the BP was making the redness.. even though my skin might adapt to BP more and more now I am thinking of not using it anyway. I think SA will actually do the trick with some more time. (Using Paula's Choice 2%)

Well you still have a choice to eat cheeseburger, right? Perhaps order a cheeseburger without cheese? smile.gif

That red bump thing is developing, looks like three zitz in one... gonna be a nasty one or already is... can't wait until its gone.

Well I guess I am starting on my 6 month now in Sep pretty much... in late October depending on the results I will make a choice in either to continue or discontinue it. If I go see a doctor I will see another Doctor that is supposedly better but a little longer wait time. I think its good to let different doctors take a look on it. Perhaps some antibiotic is next but I am pretty sure I am allergic to it, I had some eye cream this summer for my eye inflation which apparently contained antibiotic and I had some serious allergic rash over my face and arms. Such a shame... I mean I can't really go on a accutane course with like 1 to 2 zitz a week/every other week. BUT, if this accutane would make it go away completely so that like I only need to wash my face with regular water and maybe just moisturize it I probably consider it. It takes a lot of money an energy keeping up with these supplements, if I did not have a job I would not afford it all.

Hmm there are many home remedies for inflammation just google it. At first i was a non believer of home remedies but they do work. You have to pay for tretinoin? that sux. I just get mine from Medi-Cal but i dont have any at the moment since i just graduated from High School. Until i go to college this month i'll be able to check with the doc. And yea i hear you about the different doc thing. The regular doc i have now got mad that i would always go with different docs. I wonder why. :/ Do you have red marks? cause i do and i don't even go out in the sun. Damn the tretinoin!

That's KoooOl, i don't knwo what happened to my blades
but i'm using the plastic ones right now haha

And i'm 100% sure it was the cheeseburger cause whenever i eat cheese or any fast food i break out. Anyway now it's swelling is gone and i am left with a red mark. Damn i hate these red mars! i want them gone forever and then i'll be clear.

yea that was a blemish i think but you say it's gone? Bp does that that's y i stopped using that once i began using it a loong time ago.

that's good for you. SoooOO how long have u been using tretinoin now?

Haha yea i can eat a burger biggrin.gif

Hmm there are many home remedies for inflammation just google it. At first i was a non believer of home remedies but they do work. You have to pay for tretinoin? that sux. I just get mine from Medi-Cal but i dont have any at the moment since i just graduated from High School. Until i go to college this month i'll be able to check with the doc. And yea i hear you about the different doc thing. The regular doc i have now got mad that i would always go with different docs. I wonder why. :/ Do you have red marks? cause i do and i don't even go out in the sun. Damn the tretinoin!

Heh well it's funny though. We are like top 3 in paying the most tax in the world and I still have to pay money to see a doctor and they put tax on the medication I later buy, so I am paying double tax. I would be rich if it wasn't for all that tax lol. It's not just Tretinoin that I have to buy, there is Vitamin B5, cleanser, Zinc, moisturizer, jojoba oil, BP, SA etc etc. That is what adding up.

I haven't looked up the home remedies yet but I will take a look into it later. It really worked good for you? I have a red area on my chin, its probably the most sever redness I have but it does not bother me at all.. its not that extreme, hardly noticeable (for me at least). And I have some slight redness on the tip of my nose. Other is that insane pimple that was growing below my eye, well I woke up today with blood on half my face today, it had somehow popped when I slept even thought I doubt it was done. I tried to sleep with my head just straight and not on the sides, guess it did not work. I wounder if it will heal up or if new will come again.

That new shaving soap I bought got some sodium in it, but not that sodium you mentioned, sodium + random ingredient. Is that bad or is it just that sodium that was in my old shampoo and shaving foam?

I guess the doctors might get mad because they have worked up "a plan" for you, like first they try differin, then tretinoin and so on. If you jump between different ... ah just fuck it I don't know lol eusa_doh.gif
