It has been said that acne can be due to excess testosterone or even if you have normal testosterone you could be quite sensitive to it. But I have also read that acne could also be due to excess estrogen. However, on most of the sites I read that mainly testosterone is responsible for activating sebaceous glands and producing more oil. But it seems counter intuitive as both testosterone and estrogen are hormones so why would only testosterone be resonsible for producing oil? Anyone asked their derm?
