Has anyone used honey to help with their acne? What about Olive Oil? I am currently using tea tree oil and it feels good, but im not sure if its actually doing anything.

Im trying to find alternatives to medicine but im not sure what to use and how to use it.
any help would be great.

Honey is definitely worth a try. I'm currently doing a (crazy starvation) regiment. So I don't want to interfere with the results. But from my own studies, I know that honey has lysozyme (which is why they tell you to keep it out of direct sun) which is an anti-bacterial agent. Also, because of the high sugar concentration honey will kill stuff through osmosis (i.e. it'll literally suck the water out of bacteria).

Please do give it a try, and keep us posted.

Well heres what im doing.

Every Morning
1. Steam face for 20 min
2. massage honey onto face, about a size of a nickel or quarter in your palm
3. leave it one for at least 10 minutes
4. wash of with warm water
5. pat dry and apply tea tree oil with cotton ball

My face feels nice afterwards. Im not sure yet if it is helping. Il keep trying and keep you updated.

Make sure it's organic natural honey. I mean not the one you get off the shelves @ groceries. those are shady.

i never thought about the quality of the honey, i know there are different grades of honey, but i thought the quality was all the same. Any reason you think there shady? i mean, i agree, im just wondering.

I use Honey (organic) for my aspirin masks once a week. It makes my face feel really nice after, but I'm not sure it does much for active spots. I hope this works for you, good luck.

I think honey masks are a wonderful addition to a topical routine, and I try to use them once or twice a week, unfortunately I don't think that it will get rid of your acne unless it is very mild. Definitely add it in though, it's great for your skin. It will make it nice and smooth and it is also antibacterial as others have suggested. I buy the raw honey from whole foods, i'm not sure if there is a major difference or not, but it is unprocessed and still has live enzymes which at least sounds like a good thing smile.gif good luck!

Morning.
Wash honey off from night before with warm water.
(((Wash with Mary Kay "Velocity" Facial wash if my face seems extra oily that morning. ))) otherwise, I mix a bit of salt or sugar with a teaspoon of honey and use like a normal face wash, Pat dry smile.gif smile.gif

then i use my green tea" astringent", apply all over my face with a cotton ball. and let it dry

I try not to wear facial makeup if i don't have too, but if i have an important meeting or whatever, I use Mary Kay loose mineral foundation, and thats all on my face.

During the day.

whenever i feel like my face is disgusting and needs refreshment during the day i wipe it clean with the Green Tea and cottonball smile.gif smile.gif It's very very relaxing, as well as healthy for my face. wink.gif woooo

Nightime:

Wash face with honey/sugar or salt scrub
leave a thin layer of honey on for 10 minutes or so, wash off with warm water, pat dry
apply green tea
apply pure honey on problem spots/scars and leave on overnight smile.gif it can be a little sticky, but if you apply a small enough amount, it shouldnt be a problem!!

I HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU
sidenote: make sure your honey is 100% natural and organic and "cold-spun". When you buy common honey from the grocery store, most of it is heated up to extreme heats before being bottled, this kills all the nutrients that are good for your face.

i've been doing this for over a month now!!! and my skin is amazing, a month ago i had horrible acne all over, i was extremely ashamed of, i've gained my confidence back, as well as amazing smooth healthy skin smile.gif ! oh, and to make the green tea mixture, make a cup of green tea, but leave the tea bag in the water till it's cold, and literally just use that liquid smile.gif

It's "shady" because most honey is heated up a lot before it is bottled, which kills all the nutrients that that can help your face smile.gif If you buy pure honey, that's "cold-spun", than all the awesome nutrients and blah blah are still there!
