Okay I have oily skin naturally. Though the recent year especially since using jojoba oil the level of oil on my skin has decreased and normalised quite alot.

I suffer from mild acne with maybe 1-2 active at a time. However I have some clogged pores mainly around cheeks and nose with dry white gunk inside (which can generally be squeezed out especially on nose but sometimes if deep it can't be which is more around the cheeks). I also have some hyperpigmentation on cheeks im hoping to fade.

Been using duac medicine most of the time which has worked okay but still doesnt unclog pores nor has much use on active acne.

My doctor now prescribed me Retin-A 0.01 gel (its not the micro as they dont have it in the UK). I applied it last night quite generously although most recommend a pea size but it seems its not enough. When I apply it on my face it absorbs and vanishes in so quickly before it seems I have even applied it all over. But anyway I got it to apply on my face more evenly by using more.

Now this morning when I woke up I noticed absolutely no irritation, nor redness, nor dryness, nor peeling which I was expecting but instead far oilier skin.

I just wanted to know whether this is expected and if I applied the Retin-A correctly? I am also taking oxytetracyline antibiotics since yesterday. Can I expect peeling and dryness later on in the coming week and is my first reaction normal?

I hope to keep everyone updated on progress!
