I have this large bump on my left cheek that seems infested with nasty bacteria, or what not. I tried squeezing it the other day, and puss plus white solids came out. I couldn't get any more out, and from touch, there's obviously more down there. It won't clear up either. It's pretty big. I don't know what to do.

from previous experiences, i have learned from personal experience that u should never pick at your pimples or pop them. if u want to pop them u need to know the exact right way to do it. but i found that picking and popping of your pimples could lead to scarring...which is something u dont want...u have to resist the urge to touch ur pimples, otherwise they will get worse. make sure u wash ur face after u pop that pimple cause it could spread. so basically what i would do is, just treat it with dan's regimen...some sort of BP gel will do, moisturize, and just give it time.

Ya that's trouble. It's just something you can't leave alone, but also something you can't ignore. For this recently squeezed one, you gotta leave it alone, until it's resurfaced. If you persist on squeezing it more and more, and nothing more comes out (but you know something is down there), you're just going to irritate it more and it'll turn more red.

patience is the key. Sucks eh?

Aye. That does suck. I've been squeezing for a while now... yes, because I'm impatient and it's freaking me out. But now that I know this, I'll try my best to leave it be. Hopefully the scarring will be kept to a minimum, but in all honesty, I think there will be some scarring there. How long do you think it'll take before it clears by itself, or becomes poppable/squeezable? I'm currently using Carley's Clear and Smooth, and will still to that unless it proves to be completely useless. I haven't tried Dan's regime yet, but will when his new gel comes out.

Thanks alot!

--EDIT--
Btw, when I leave it alone for a couple days, skin builds up and it starts feeling really coarse and rough. Should I still leave it be? Or should I kind of peel off the new skin? The bump and bacteria/crap is still there underneath, but a nasty layer of rough skin formed over it.

it probably wont scar as much, as long as u dont pick at it, and rub it to death. but from now on u should leave ur pimples alone...and u're actually not even suppose to pop ur pimples, so never ever touch your pimples only exception is if a doctor who know's how to do it does it for you. you want to treat the pimple, by applying something with benzoyl peroxide or some kind of vanishing cream or something. you also want to keep oil off of your face, cause it will make pimples worse. so 1: wash ur face 2: benzoyl peroxide, or vanishing cream or something that penetrates ur pimple and kills the bacteria 3: if drying occurs moisturize (basically dan's regimen) you want to make sure u wash ur hand between each step, and NEVER touch your face with your hands, cause it will make it worse. you never really notice it, but ur hands touch like everything throughout ur day, and there is so much bacteria that builds up on ur hands in a matter of minutes that u should make sure u wash ur hands before u treat ur face. and this is basically the skills i have developed and learned on how to treat acne lol.

-edit-

forgot to answer ur edit [-X

leave ur pimple alone always, ignore whatever skin forms over it or anything whatever...just let the medicine do the job. it doesnt matter what happens to your pimples, u should never pick at it or pop it or something, it should always be done by professional. if the skin that forms over it is flaky and makes ur face look nasty, then use a non-comdigenic and oil-free moisturizer, it doesnt clog ur pimple or put oil on your face.

A. Its ok to pop a pimple as long as it comes to a big whitehead and has that yellow white appearance on the whitehead. B. Dont pop it with your to fingers get a sewing needle put a match underneath it to sterlise it and prick the white head that should make the pimple start ozzing then gently with toliet tissue squeeze the puss and fluid out. This is the correct dermatologist suggested way of doing it. This is back my dermatologist. Actually leaving a pimple alone can lead to scarring because it prolongs the expsoure of inflamation which puts the skin at greater risk of having a scar. The quicker you can relieve inflammation the better off you are. All of this was stated by my dermatologist.
