i never really had bad acne but a couple of days ago the zits started popping up. its red bumps under the skin but without an opening. i don't see any pus either. is that acne?? plus it hurts especially when i sleep. how do i get rid of it. i tried using acne creams containing bp but it turned the "pimples" into a darker colour and it burns. what shld i do??

Sounds like it might be a cyst. Personally I find that pure tea tree oil applied before an AHA helps any cyst I might get to heal quicker. The links below will provide you with some info regarding cysts and you can also do a search on the boards to find more info. Hope this helps!

well is this the kinda pimples that turn into this huge watery mess with pus and all and takes foreva to heal?? [-o< is there anyway to prevent the pus..apart from staying clear of oranges?? (my beautician once told me that oranges have a tendency to heal acne-prone skin the wrong way...causing the formation of excessive pus and blood)

Could it be an allergic reaction?
This time of the year I get dust mites real bad in my house, especially in my bed. Try washing all your bedding (pillows, blankets, sheets) in hot water. I add de-mite to the wash too, it kills dust mites.
You can put cortizone cream or benadryl cream on the bumps if that's what's causing them and they'll go away in a few days.

Whatever you do resist the urge to squeeze them. These are the exact type of zits I squeezed years ago that scarred my skin in a few places.
