I read this article last year but haven't heard anything since. I am keeping my eyes peeled for some more news on this new 'miracle' gel.

Feel free to take a look. Early tests sound extremely promising

On this website: http://www.oxfordshirebioscience.com/obn_/...=5WEUBRMVAE2535

They said:

SMT D002 is being developed as a novel treatment for seborrhoea (excessive sebum production). Seborrhoea is also believed to be the primary cause of acne and SMT D002 is currently in a Phase I clinical trial with the results expected during Q1 2008.

That's about all I could find on it.

Oh and I just found this:

http://www.summitplc.com/SMT%20D002.htm

According to the second link, it is something that is already available in some form, but they obviously don't want to reveal that at the moment.

MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) - Summit Corp Plc. said it received positive results from a phase I clinical trial of SMT D002, its candidate to treat excessive sebum production, a primary cause of acne.

It reported "significant" levels of sebum suppression of 90 percent compared to the placebo group, and added that no serious or unexpected adverse side-effects were reported.

Summit now plans to develop a topical formulation of SMT D002 -- as part of its programme to find new therapeutic uses for existing marketed drugs -- and is actively seeking a commercial partner to advance this candidate.
