I've been using BP for around 4 years now. I've had my ups and downs with it, as I assume most others have. Some weeks I love the way my skin looks, and then some weeks I break out horribly. I'm at the point where you can say I have mild acne, nothing serious really.

So what is Differin? To a mild acne sufferer what will it do? What should I do while on it? All these questions popped up in my mind after I saw the doctor, not during and I feel like an ass for it. The derm did tell me to not use BP anymore because it was drying out my skin too much, but honestly, unless I don't have it on, I can't notice the dryness.

I just feel like I was a rush job and would like a little more feedback than "Here, take this and come back in a month". I'd appreciate any answers, thank you.

I have started to use differin as a mild acne sufferer too, i apply it twice daily after washing and then spot treat with bp twice daily also, i believe this helps both prevent future acne and then figh the existing acne

Differin contains adapaline which is a topical retinoid based on vitamin A. I use it for my moderate acne as well as dianette (contraceptive). As yours is mild I would stick to using it once a day, but if you find it too irritating give it a break on that area til it clears up. It should dry your skin out a lot so a moisturiser would be good. Although I don't think it says it on the product information thing, some sites (though I don't know how reliable they are) say you should go on the pill or try not to get pregnant while using it as it might cause birth defects (maybe as it is slightly chemically related to isotretinoin?). I don't know how reliable this suggestion is, as the manufacturers say barely any of the cream gets into your blood, but I didn't investigate it much seeing as im on the pill anyway.
