i used bio oil for around 4 months. it didnt make be breakout at all, and did help with my skin textures, i had minor scarring and it did help make it smoother, but it didnt help with my hyperpigmenation so i started using extra virgin olive oil, been using it for about 4 days now and i can already see the difference, the whole face is glowing now, am gonna stick to olive oil for now.

i broke out majorly with bio oil. i went from having moderate acne to severe.
(my skin has always been oily, i suppose adding bio 'oil' made it worse)

trying to get rid of a few tiny acne scars ended up giving me scars on both sides of my face, in places where i've never gotten acne before. sad.gif

I had acne for about 5 years now, it was severe acne..i had some chemical peels done in europe and given 3 different creams..they work excellent..my acne went away..but left scars on my cheeks sad.gif ..and alittle bit on my chin.. i was going to wait to get laser surgery later in life, but i wanted to try something now because it does make me uncomfortable..

I recently bought Bio Oil..actually bought it last night.. I put liek 3 drops on my face, and it was very oily and took for ever to rub it..so i figure i have to just use 1 drop and it will absorb faster.. I like how it smells and it does make my face feels nice

Iam going to use it 3 times a day, for about 3-5months and see if i get any results...

I read what people had to say here, and different reviews and blogs..and they all been good..so iam hope for the best..i be happy if it kinda makes it go away..anything to make me feel alittle better about myself wink.gif

I used it for a short while with success but broke up badly. I do not advise people to use this on their face... I mean it's crazy to think you're adding this oil to an acne prone skin. It does help with scars but only causes further damage.

i am lucky in that i have never scarred from acne. I do have a few keloids on my right shoulder and one on my chest. no big deal. I doubt this stuff would do anything for that. I wonder is the oil comedogenic, seeing as some people will want to use it on their face.

I've been using bio oil for about a month now...

First off, I've got some kind of combination pain in the butt skin. generally my blemishes appear on the forehead and my nose is pretty full of blackheads. The skin below that is generally not a problem...

That is until Bio-Oil. I've never seen comedones on my cheeks until now, and boy are there a whole bunch of them.

HOWEVER, it seems to help quite a bit with my forehead, and it seems to be helping with my keratosis pilaris (back of my arms) as well. Soooo I'm going to keep using it, but avoid putting it on my cheeks from now on.

BioOil is a man made processed oil alot of stuff in it is not needed. Rose Hip Seed Oil is 100% natural and much better alternative as it does everything Biooil does and helps fight acne which BioOil does not.

how is it w/indented scars?

This was from the site:

"...As a teenager I suffered from acne, which left me with terrible crater-like scars all over my face and back. For years I had to endure the embarrassment - nothing that I tried helped and no amount of make-up could conceal them. Then about a year ago (I am now 27) I heard about Bio-Oil from my sister who had used it on an op scar. She was raving about it but I was reluctant to use an oil on my face, because my skin is still prone to breakouts. Well…it's a year later, and I am a different person. Some of the smaller scars have gone completely, while the more severe ones have faded significantly. The texture and condition of my skin is just generally so much better. I was so surprised to find that it is amazingly gentle, light and not at all greasy."

How long did this take, how often where you aplyinh, any other tips? My 'marks' aren't that bad at all.

What is the difference between Bio Oil and Emu Oil? Which one have you found better for those that have tried both?

Okay, I will NOT be putting this stuff on my face...
But how is it for other scars that are not on the face? (non-acne scars)
I have some stretch marks from puberty and I hate them.
I also have a few minor scars from random cuts a couple years ago.
It was on sale for 8 bucks so I took a chance. tongue.gif
Will it likely do anything for my other scars?

After reading this thread back and forth I decided to pick up BioOil today. I have very mild acne but I tend to pick at my face so I have a hard time with red marks. I've never been able to keep them under control so I can feel comfortable not wearing makeup, so I am hoping this helps fade them a little! On the box it said the product was non-comedogenic and fine for use on the face so it shouldn't start breakouts [even though the 'oil' part of the name is kind of deceptive haha]. I'll let you know how it works for me. wink.gif

Hi does anyone know if maybe this would be beneficial to use with oil cleansing? Like maybe add it into the mix of oils? Or would that not be beneficial really ...

I think leaving any type of oil sitting on my face would make me break out, but maybe could still get some benefits by using it in the cleansing.

don't use it. It would be irritating with lavender oil and Isopropyl myristate is breakout city.

I bought Bio-Oil for non-acne related scarring after I saw a commercial on TV. Looking at the ingredients, though, It's mainly mineral oil with some EO's. I thought mineral oil is supposed to be bad for acne.
