SO I've been on retin-a for a while, and yes, i had a HORRIBLE breakout. however, i switched to a soap that's just a tiny bit more aggressive than cetaphil and that's helped speed up the clearing process. i've seen a big difference in the last two weeks. i still have acne, but not as bad. the thing is, i was very good about not trying to break open any cysts 0:) but now they're dried up and gross! at least when they were pimples i could put makeup over them, if i try to wear makeup over them now, they look like scabs. could i put neosporin ointment over them or will ointment clog my pores?

oh well. at least this means the retin-a is working. i'm hoping to be mostly clear in another few weeks.

I wouldn't put anything else on them. After you wash the retin-a off, use your wet fingertips and exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. This should help with the scabiness. I can totally relate and this trick worked best for me. I'd still have to spot check about midday though.

yeah i have a scabby thing on my face right now and im not doing anything to it other than tryyying to cover it up with make up. i know for sure too im not going to pick at it beacuse it will prolly just come back worse than the first time. so stick it out and just let it heal. it might look gross now but i think thats going to be the best bet.

I really hate the appearance of scabs after spots,
but what i used to do was out a dollop of moisturiser cream on a spot at night and when i woke up it used to go be away the next day,

BUT it can sometimes cause blockages on pores , so is not a win win situation.

its really frustrating. eusa_wall.gif
