Just wanted to make this thread, and see how many people have actually been cured of their acne by supplementing with DIM (Or a dramatic Improvement), as i thought the other thread, is just becoming the research thread for DIM.

So post your results!

awhile back when i was researching mushrooms the term dim came up. Apparantly it prevents testosterone from converting into dht. So it may be helpful for some people. It's probably best to get dim from raw food sources.

Give it time!! Five days is NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. I would give it at least two weeks before getting discouraged.

So I've been reading all the DIM threads for the past few days. Friday, I went to Vitamin Shoppe and purchased a bottle. First, let me give you a little info about my acne. I'm 21 and I've suffered from acne since around 16 years of age. I feel like I've tried EVERYTHING...Neutrogena, Proactiv, Clinique's Acne Solutions, changed my makeup and face cleansers a million times..etc. Anyways, I came upon the threads about DIM and I pray this works for me. I took two pills Friday night, two yesterday, and I've had my first dose today. So far, I haven't really noticed much of a difference. I'm also taking 800IU's of vitamin E and 50mg of Zinc. I've also changed my diet since Friday. I had a piece of chocolate yesterday and BAM...I had a zit this morning! So, I guess chocolate is what does it for me! However, I do have a TERRIBLE thing that happened to me today....

So, I've been using Clinique's clarifying skin makeup since January. However, it has given me SEVERELY dry skin..I mean, we're talking like my skin would crack open if I smiled...ouch! So, I went into Clinique today to get my money back for the crappy makeup they gave me. I didn't think it'd be that big of a deal and then next thing I know, I'm sitting in a chair and she starts taking off my makeup without asking! I was MORTIFIED!! I've never been more humiliated in my entire life. I'm one of those girls that WILL NOT leave the house without makeup because my acne is so embarrassing. So there I am...no makeup...and this dumbass girl is taking off my makeup! Anyways, I just bought the stuff she suggested and got the heck out of there! I cried the whole way home! When I got home, my boyfriend didn't know WHAT to think because I was such an emotional WRECK! He of course told me I was beautiful and I have nothing to worry about. However, it's hard for him to understand because he's never had acne and I don't think he realizes the embarrassment I go through everyday. I've been crying all afternoon!

I hope DIM works...

Oh, I've also gone to the dermatologist and been on an antibiotic, used differin, and clindomycin (sp?)...no results

Today is my 4th day taking DIM and I think it's beginning to work! My skin looks A LOT better! I have only gotten 2 new zits since Saturday and they have not been like my zits normally are. They are much less painful and did not get as red or rise up as much. I really think the vitamin E and zinc are helping with making my skin tone much more even. My old acne is still very visible, but the redness has definately decreased. I'm being patient and trying not to stress out about it so much. Also, I think my mood has really changed as well since taking DIM. My boyfriend even noticed a difference. I'm not as uptight and I'm not getting angry real easy like usual. I have an VERY stressful life. I work part time and I'm in Nursing school, so stress has been a definate factor in my acne. I've also stuck to a pretty strict diet since last Thursday. I've eliminated sugar (especially chocolate...I'm about to go crazy without it), caffeine, crystal light (drank 2 per day), dairy, and anything that I know is bad for me (really fatty foods). I'm eating a ton of fruit and veggies. I've also gotten back into my workout routine. Monday, Wednesday, Friday I do 45 minutes of cardio and 45 minutes of weight lifting. Tuesday and Thursday I do cardio for 1 hour. My sleeping schedule has also changed. I used to have to take tylenol PM to help me sleep and night and now I'm in bed by 10:30 and asleep by 11:00. I wake up on my own @ 6:30 and feel really great! Oh, and I've also been drinking nothing but water. I think I'm going to try drinking green tea. Hope everyone finds this helpful.

Day 3 of DIM

things are looking great so far, my skin is 90% less oily then usual (i usualy have to remove the oil a couple times while at work) i havn't had a single new zit, and the ones i had are fading fast. Even my chest acne is starting to dissapate which is like unheard of because it seems like it hasn't changed for like a year. I must also mention then ive been exfoliating with bha aswell so that could also be contributing. The other thing im taking is nutrasea fish liver oil 2 tsp daily but ive been doing that for some time now. The first day my brain felt a little strange, maybe it was all in my head but it felt a little diffrent and i think i have been less agrovated latley aswell. Anyways, so far so good, i'll update in a couple more days, but i just want to say im very pleased with the resaults so far.

I'm 21 male taking natures way DIM - plus 1 pill 2x daily with meal.
