I dont think it is a cause of breakouts but scarring maybe. Excessive male masterbation would eliminate a fair amount of protein that would be used to heal skin. The body would give up all functions and utilize whatever materials available to produce and ejaculate well kept sperm. So, if a guy jerks off more protien than he takes in the body will divert materials from skin care and use it for ejaculate.....maybe.... its just an idea....

It is exactly the same and has the exact same effects on the body. Most people just say masturbation because they aren't having sex.

Heres my take I've done a fair amount of research for myself as i started to notice my own correlation between mastribation and acne in middle school. Mastribation causes acne for some of us I used to go at it once a night but once i got acne i went once every other day it seemed to help but i still had the acne. Now I go once a week. its all i can really take i start to get heavy acne the day after but soon after it tapers off.

about the sex and acne
most people practice safe sex and use a condom and the condom restricts the flow of sperm to a certain level. when mastribating i let go as much as i can. ive tried holding back sperm and it seems to help butt i dont think its good for you haha and i still had some acne the next day. but this could be why some people say the sex helps acne because i doubt they need to whack it if their gettin a nice cave to explore.

If you think sex or masturbation will help your acne, it will. If you think sex or masturbation will give you acne... guess what? It will.

Honestly, I would say it's different for each individual. I'm guessing if masturbation/sex causes you to break out then it would be a combination of lots of things, including what type of acne you have.

Everyone says masturbation isn't linked with acne but if you think about it, lack of exercise is linked with it so why can't other bodily functions (ejaculating, having an orgasm) be linked? I get the feeling everyone just says it cos they enjoy it so much!?

I think somehow it is linked to acne. If you think about it...it's a surge of hormones going through your body, and hormones are responsible for worsening of acne in some people.

Are you kidding me? It's the opposite. Masturbating = no physical effort, lots of sperm production and hormones going wild. Sex = physical exercise. I am pretty sure that the later is less likely to lead to some crazy hormone imbalance.
