Not picking is SOO hard during that clearing/healing process, but it's totally
worth it. Sounds like things are going pretty good then?

Yes, it is hard!

Yea, things are going good... This new method has really calmed my skin down a lot. I'm glad I switched before things got too bad. I posted a new pic (still being approved). The pic looks similar to when the OCM was still working for my skin...

After about a month of OCM though, my skin started going crazy with bumps all over my face. I wish I had pix of when the OCM stopped working to show the true progress, but I think I was too traumatized to post any at that time.

I'm doing much better now. smile.gif

Okay so it's officially been a month since I started my new routine...

Here's the scoop:

My face is sooo much better now than it was a month ago. I really like that I've been able to keep my routine simple. I am still having a hard time not touching/picking at my skin. It's like a subcontious thing... The other day I had a medium-sized bump and I decided to push on it to try and pop it. It didn't pop! I thought to myself, "Oh great, now more are going to come." And they did. Where the 1 pimple was, ther are now about 5! shock.gif

But besides those pimples (on my right cheek) there aren't many others. My skin, overall, looks more supple instead of dry like it was before. I'm really liking this Complex 15. And I've always liked Purpose...

I don't know about any of you guys but I look forward to washing my face at night. It's very calming. I save that for the last thing in my routine every night. Then I gently pat about a dime-sized amount of Complex 15 into my skin. It soaks it right up. Sometimes I even add another layer in certain areas.

The other day I went and bought my second tube of Complex 15. I'm still on my first one but I didn't want to take any chances that the CVS I bought the first tube from would sell out. eusa_shifty.gif

I hope that this regimen continues to work for me. I'm so glad I looked into Complex 15 when I did. I feel like it saved my skin from further damage and reversed some of the damage. I hope that eventually the dark marks I have leftover will fade away. They are no fun.

Until next time... sideways.gif

Buenos días muchachos!

So my skin is getting there but I've noticed a lot of dry skin lately and some flaking so I decided to add an exfoliant. I was thinking about getting Mary Kay microdermabrasion stuff but I decided against that because I'm a poor college student and I can't afford to spend that much money on stuff right now. So I went on Makeup Alley and I looked up reviews for different kinds of exfoliators. As I was searching, I noticed one of the products listed was sugar. I was like SUGAR???? So being the curious person that I am, I decided to do a little research on using sugar to exfoliate my skin. Some people said that they used white sugar and some said that they preferred brown sugar. One of the reviews stood out to me particularly:

I use light brown sugar as an exfoliant for my face and I LOVE IT. I have been using it once a week for about three months. Overall my skin is clearer. Brown sugar is more gentle than white sugar - (try them both on your knees and feel the difference) How I use it: I take about three TB of brown sugar in a plastic cup into the shower. I put half the sugar into my palm and mix it with a few drops of water. It always gets too liquidy, so I add the rest of the brown sugar until it turns pasty. Then I massage it onto my cheeks and chin. I leave it on my face and at the end of my shower I rinse it off. Sugar is a humectant, so it's not overly drying. I have tried mixing brown sugar both with honey and with oil, but I prefer straight brown sugar mixed with a few drops of water. I am acne prone, but since using brown sugar I get fewer new pimples. I have tried other scrubs and i find that brown sugar is the most gentle. BTW I now use water instead of a toner. I like the feel of cottonballs on my face, but I stopped using my toner that has alcohol in it. I now apply spring water with a cotton ball after I wash my face - love it.

So I decided to be brave and get some light brown sugar from the store and try it. I got the Domino brand light brown sugar and it was only 99 cents!!! eusa_dance.gif That's way better than paying $30 for the Mary Kay microderm stuff. That night I couldn't wait to try it on my skin. First I washed my face with my Purpose and then while my skin was still wet, I took some of the brown sugar and started massaging my skin with it in circles. After I did that for about a minute I washed it off and used a little (miniscule) dab more of my cleanser and rinsed again to be sure (wasn't sure if sugar was comediogenic or not). My face felt so smooth afterward-- it was AMAZING. smile.gif It had been about a year since I'd exfoliated with anything because I was worried that it would cause me to break out. I think this brown sugar thing is going to work well for me though. I exfoliated last night with it (forehead only) as well as the night before (whole face--the first night) but I think I'm just going to do it as a once a week thing from now on.

Has anyone heard/tried exfoliating with sugar? Let me know sideways.gif

Okay...

So the breakout I got from using the MAC Studio Tech is pretty much gone now. Right now I'm dealing with a huge whitehead by my lip. LOL what's funny is that I saw my friend today who like never breaks out and she had a pretty good sized whitehead by her mouth too! Almost in the exact same spot as mine. I have to say, that was pretty ironic to me.

Anyways...

So I've stopped using my Everyday Minerals samples and I'm using Maybelline's Mineral Power liquid foundation. I like the fact that it has an SPF 18 in it. I am not hugely worried about SPF but it is a nice addition since my Complex 15 doesn't have SPF at all.

My regimen is still the same-- and I'm still liking it.

I just found out today that I'm for sure graduating this semester!!!!!! It's such a relief to have that written in stone now.

Well ttyl! biggrin.gif
