Okeedoke...

So I'm sure some of you have seen my posts proclaiming the wonders of The Oil Cleansing Method.

Well after doing that method for a month, my skin started having a reaction to something. It might have been the avocado I tried one night or something else..IDK.

At any rate, I decided to stop the method and try something new. I just bought some Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash and Complex 15 Face Cream. I bought it after seeing a post suggesting to use the two products together.

Having already used Purpose, I am fine with using it again. I don't really remember what made me stop using it. I think it might have been because it was a little drying eventually.

But now I am only washing my face with a cleanser at night instead of morning and night. I think that will be better. In the morning I just wash my face gently with water and moisturize with the Complex 15. It just soaks right into my skin. I like it. The smell is a little funny though.

I think the OCM made my skin a little dry so I think the Complex 15 is going to be good for me. Thankfully, the local CVS store had it. smile.gif

So yea, this is my log as of now.

Today my skin is doing okay. I have a few pimples on my forehead and some on my cheeks and chin. Nothing major...

A problem I have is picking at my skin. I really need to stop. Sometimes it's an unconscious thing... :/

I know it will only make things worse but...*sigh*

I will try my best to leave my skin alone and with God's help, I know I can break the habit.

Nice regimen! That's pretty much like mine right now which ive been trying to perfect for so long, but its working great so far. I just bought Nature's Gate fragrance free moisturizer to add in since my face is pretty dry in this dead of winter CT air. (bout to put my regimen in my sig)

Good luck with your regimen! Where do you live in Florida? I lived in Orlando for a few years.

Well today I cut all my fingernails really short so I won't be tempted to pick at my skin.

Hopefully it will help. My nails have been growing really fast lately.

My skin is calm right now and I'm happy about that. Still some lingering pimples but I'm not gonna let them stress me out anymore. smile.gif

Today is a good day and tomorrow is CHOCOLATE DAY!!!!

Our school's cafeteria brings out chocolate fountains and all kinds of chocolate desserts for us tomorrow.

That's why I look forward to Valentine's Day these days! biggrin.gif

Today my skin looks pretty good. I have a few lingering bumps on my forehead and 2 pimples on the right side of my face. I am still trying to keep my hands away from my face. It's an unconcious thing sometimes...

*sigh*

But I think just washing with the Purpose at night is better for me than doing it morning and night. And plus, it gives me something to look forward too. biggrin.gif

Yeah, it is hard to keep the hands off sometimes, isn't it? So you aren't using any treatment products at all?

Nope. Just the Purpose cleanser and Complex 15 moisturizer. smile.gif

Hope your regimen is working good for you so far!

I think your on the right track with only washing once a day. I'm now certain that the worst of my acne (cheeks) is caused by washing. I totally avoid washing them and they totally clear and the unsighty red blotchiness that is my face dissapears. I also dont use medication anymore. I belive just finding the right combination of a gentle and noncomedogenic regimen will work best for me.

I see that you don't use a sunscreen in the daytime. Don't mean to butt in, but it's probably a good idea to start to hold off wrinkles and such in the future. You may want to make sure your reg worx b4 testing out sunscreens-idk. I can say the proactiv one is the only one ive tried that doesnt break me out, and ive tried most of the top-rated one's on this site. You can get it pretty cheap on ebay i think.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice about the sunscreen smile.gif.

I do have somewhat of a sunscreen on in the day. I recently started using Everyday Minerals and the zinc oxide in it is supposed to be a mild sunscreen...idk. Do you think that's enough for me?

Well, spf 15 is recommended everyday, even if you just drive to school or work or leave the windows in the house open, and EM more than likely does not contain that high spf. But it's better than nothing....I think there are makeups that have a labeled spf out there too.

Well today is a good day for my skin. It looks very calm. Someone actually noticed that my skin has changed and said, "Your skin looks nice."

I haven't heard that in a while. It felt good to be complimented on something other than my hair. smile.gif

I think your well on your way to clear skin. biggrin.gif And yes picking my skin is my biggest problem. My newest pimple on my lip I left alone for the last three days and just attacked it with BP and tea tree oil. It's defintely going to heal better than the last one which left a nasty dark spot on my cheek. Im actually considering doing some glycolic acid peels but I need more information first. I heard it was good for hyperpigmentation which is basically what the darks spots are on our skin.

Not much new to report. My skin has been responding very well to Complex 15-- it's so much calmer.

I'm glad I never went the Proactiv route. rolleyes.gif

okay so....
i really don't want to have a bunch of dark marks left on my face when the pimples are all gone so i am making a conscious effort NOT to touch/pick at my face starting today. With God's help, I know it can be done. thumbsup.gif
