Well my question is simple i stopped breaking out completly but i am on retin-a .5 and tetracyline and i have been on tetracyline now for about 5 months..would it be okay to stop it and just keep taking retin-a..i dont want to get immuned or mess anything up while taking it...my derm wants me to stay on it until i go back in MAY and possible longer..
also maybe i could slowly wean myself off of them...if anybody on here has been weaned off these pills please tell me how you had to do it and such i would appreciate that alot.
please anybody with any information please help me out thanks alot!
p.s. i was taking retin-a .25% and my tetracyline now i bumped myself up to 5% and havent broke out yet so maybe the retin-a is what is helping the most idk..
p.s.s. also i take two tetracyline in the morning and two at night!
Would it be okay to Stop tetracyline?

Hi there,
Antibiotics only work as long as you're on them (and perhaps for a few months afterwards since they stay in your system for a while depending on how long your were on them)...but the good news is that if you stop taking the tetracycline to see if the retin a is working for you, and then you start breaking out again, you can always go back on tetracycline. No harm done. Also, I think it would be worthwhile since long term antibiotic use is pretty unhealthy and you might become immune to it anyway. If you do continue tetracycline, please consider a good probiotic supplement. Good luck to you with whatever you decide!
