with the cold whether and all my skin is soo dry and looks wrinkly from up close. ive gone from being able to use my retin-a every night to only every third night. i want to take a short break from all my prescriptions and just cleanse and moisturizer to get my skin healther looking. how long of a break can i take from retin-a without having to go through the purging process and basically starting over when i begin again? a week or so?

Dermatologist usually recommend that you just space out the medication application in order to control irritation. It's good that you plan on being off of it just for one week (the biggest mistake is that when people start noticing bad irritation, they just go completely off of the medication).

Maybe you should keep on spacing it out (like twice a week, or even once a week), and increase the length if your skin is still irritated.

Good luck!
