I have been using the taz for a bit now but feel like my nighttime moisturizer isn't quite cutting it anymore. I have read numerous things on Aloe Vera gel and how it help tremendously with red marks while doubling over as a great moisturizer. I also read that Aloe Vera Gel works great with topical retinoids such as Tazorac, is that true? Has anyone had any luck or experience with the combo of taz and aloe vera gel? Thanks and any input will be very helpful.

Hello,
Actually believe it or not, aloe vera can be quite drying! That is one reason that it is so great for acne, it dries out blemishes and reduces irritation. I would definitely NOT use it with tazorac except for maybe to spot treat actives and old spots. I use only natural products on my face and love them. You could try doing some research online about how to make your own skin care products and dropping the tazorac if it's irritating you. Since I've switched my face doesn't get oily during the day and I also don't have the flakiness I used to when I was using BP. I think natural products work much better than anything else. There's also a web site where you can purchase natural products if you don't feel like maing them yourself, apothena.com. In any case I use aloe to spot treat, but I can't use it all over my face or else it will dry me out since I have combo skin. Good luck!

Hi! I believe aloe vera has traces of natural salicylic acid in it, which can irritate the skin if you are using a retinoid.
