agghhh this is soo frustrating!
im 3 months into my course and im getting more and more spots by the day! confused.gif
why is this?? is this the breakout?? i thought its usually within the first few weeks not months!!
could accutane be the answer? ive heard derms dont really like giving accutane,why is this and how serious does it have to be before they consider it?

any help and advice would be much appreciated! biggrin.gif

One of the derms I visited told me the reason they *rarely* prescribe Accutane is because of the major side effects-- they want to use every other method possible to try and control the acne before they even think to consider Acutane... They think the product is too intense (and it is). Therefore, the patient's acne has to be pretty severe to get it prescribed (at least in my case). The derm also takes in consideration if the patient is starting to scar...
The derms want to try see the effects of antibiotics up to a 6 month period (although another derm said 3 was enough) before they determine if Accutane is the right route to take.

heya! thanks for your reply,
i think i mite make an appointment at my docs as see if she says whats happening is 'normal'
ive also heard a low dose of accutane can really benefit people with mild/moderate acne

let me know what you find out about the low dose of accutane...i would be interested in what you find out and what the derm tells you.
