I haven't been taking it twice a day like I should be. My last dose was on Tuesday and then on thursday I woke up with what I thought was just a heat rash but really is hives. The medication is the only thing that I can come up with that I have taken thats been different. It's not just a new soap or anything that I'm allergic to as my throat itches also. So it makes sense that it's something I have eaten.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm calling the dr. tomorrow as it's sunday.

Don't take anymore Mino until you speak with your doctor. Allergic reactions last as long as the body fights them and it is not dependent on how long a medication stays in the body.

Good! smile.gif Then your next step is to speak with your doctor.

There really is no timeline for allergic reactions. Every individual varies. If the allergic reaction is severe enough (SJS), the skin sloughing can last weeks. Milder reactions (a slight rash, itchiness) may last a few days....maybe even longer.

VERY smart of you not to take anymore. An itchy throat could have meant that you were getting ready to have a severe allergic reaction...including shortness of breath and difficulty breathing. Just don't use anymore cyclines at all. They have cross-reactivity. I don't remember offhand if there are other drugs that cause cross-sensitivity with cyclines, but no doubt your MD can tell you.
