hey, i'm not sure if ive posted in the right place but i was hoping for some help; on the whole i'm pretty happy with my skin (have some acne but it looks alright) but one thing bothers me loads. On the tip of my nose I've got something resembling a slightly raised red bump, it doesn't hurt at all and it's only visible when lights shining on it. I don't think it's acne because it's been there for ages now, applied topical stuff like tea tree oil to it but that seems to have stopped working altogether. I don't even think it's scarring because it's not like an indentation type blotch in the skin, its just a tiny bump that looks really bad under lighting. Anyone possibly advise me on what it is and how to treat it? I was thinking it might be a pimple under the surface or something ... ?
thanks loads, apologies if this is the wrong place.
uncertain regarding what i have

Only thing that comes to mind is a laser session, atleast that's what my derm told me.
I suggest you ask your derm

i would definetly talk with your primary care dr or a derm and find out what it is. earlier in the year i had a red spot above my lip that wasn't a pimple...it was just a flat red spot. i went to florida and when i got back it had raised up. i put everything imaginable on it, but nothing helped. i finally went to the dr and they told me it was a cherry anginoma. i don't know if that's what you have but you may want to google it and find out more info. i ended up having it lasered off. it took awhile for it to heal. good luck and keep me posted on what you find out.

went to the doctor today who didn't really know what it was either, said i would never get referred to a derm even if i wanted to because it wasnt serious at all. she prescribed me some antibiotic cream (erythromycin and zinc acetate lotion), though i doubt it'll end up having any effect. it's really annoying me now even though it's only noticeable sometimes because it's on the front of my nose !

if you're still concerned about it i would still look into seeing a derm. it's entirely your decision. your dr may be wrong in saying that it's not serious enough for a derm to look at. i would look into it if this cream doesn't help.
