I've been using TAZ 0.01% for about 1-2 months. Lately I have been getting sudden flushing redness come over my face. It's really embarassing and I am thinking about cutting back on the amount of TAZ I use every night.
Does anyone know if it's the TAZ or maybe is being caused by something else?

id say the taz
im on a month and 5 days... my face is quite red and peels a couple/few days out of the week... it seems like the only time it peels is when i have to go out and about.
but damnn is it ever working.. i also want to cut down eventually.. to every other day or osmething, once im completely clear though.
since taz thins the layer of the skin.. i think teh blushing is just made more evident due to less layers. fuck im high and rambling. hope some of that made sense

yea...from experience, i developed flushing/redness from accutane, which you are probobly aware, is the same components as retin-a...nobody is sure why this happens, but if I were you I would discontinue its use right now and talk to your dermatologist. You can only hope that it will stop once you discontinue its use.

I had this problem a year ago, when I was on Retin-A. I stopped, and the problem stopped. Now I'm on it again.
I can't believe that I didn't realize it was the Retin-A that was causing the problem. The skin would sting then start heating up. People told me my face turned tomato red.

Yeah, I suspected it was the topical. But I'm not about to stop using it. I'll probably just use a little less and see if that helps. Clear skin vs. Red face... hmmm..
thanks for the help

You know, I was on the very same thing you are one about 2 years ago. After about 3 months, I had flawless skin, but the redness got so bad that it was actually embarassing to laugh or exercise or etc.
During Taz, I thought exactly what you did, that having redness is a small price to pay for having clear skin. But now, that's one of my biggest regrets.
Taz's caused me pretty bad rosacea and now, I'd rather have acne vs. having red patches over my face (it's funny; when I wash my face, I can see exactly where the Taz's done it's job; around my eyes and mouth, it's my olive-toned skin, but everywhere else, it's redness).
So I'd really recommend you think hard. I know at the moment, nothing seems like a big price to pay when you're working your way towards having clear skin, but having extreme redness (which usually gets worse with continual use of Tazorac) can be a really bad life-ruiner too (on par with acne).

You can try Finacea.
It's being used by a lot of acne-sufferers, but actually it was made specifically for treating rosacea patients (rosacea is the condition of having bad facial blushing, redness, etc.)
The great thing about Finacea is that it not only treats your rosacea (or at least keeps it under control) it also controls acne.
That's the topical choice; otherwise, you can try the lasers, but that's really costly and also the thing with lasers is after the treatment, if you get new acne and new scars, it's just a waste of money.
And, mmmhmmmm, it's great that Tazorac is working for you. But it's important to keep in mind that the same medication can have less benefits and greater side effects to other people. Just because a lot of people end up suffering from bad redness from Tazorac doesn't mean you should feel like you should stop Tazorac (as long as it's working for you).
But on the same note, I think it'd be a smart choice to keep your eye out for any increasing redness (it's always better to be safe than sorry, right?)
