Hi Guys
Ok so I had my first Fraxel treatment about 10 days ago. (I dont remember what depth it was dam sore though) the reason for general resurfacing, freshening and some mild Red acne scaring along my jawline.
Ok so two days afterwards Im still blue and I can see Im a bit swollen. No problemo.
Then day 4 I wake up and skin resembles fine sandpaper. I Kid you not.... turn to the side and I have these fine bumps all over my cheeks and chin (none on my forehead or nose)
The treatment was done all over my face by the Proffessor of Plastic Surgery at our University here so I know he is qualified. Unforutnately the clinic is closed till next week and I stupidly forgot to ask for a number incase I had any questions.
I generally heal very quickly and I cant understand what is happening. I dont have flaking, just these bumps. I would say though that they are down to about 20 % visiblity. I mean you cant really see them now, just feel them. (after after 7 microderm sessions before hand my skin was as soft as a babies butt!) Im devistated.
I was read for a day or two after and dont remember experiencing bronzing. Just these weird bumps. I wonder if it could not be something like a heat rash? maybe a reaction I had to the "heat" generated from the fraxel.
On a more positive note, the red scaring is almost gone from just one treatment so Im happy about that.
I was going to do three, but now Im worried. Maybe Ill do a medium - strong chemical TCA peel instead (im having a BA in FEb so will be down and out for atleast a week thought it a good time then)
Any thoughts?
much appreciated.
Thanks

Ok, I'll just relay my experience. I've had one fraxel treatment myself at the end of November. I don't know what strength it was....just told them I didn't want to be lobster red as I'd seen others who had regular laser done. Anyway, I never was blue? Did have minor swelling and was only as red afterwards as if I had microderm abrasion but just lasted longer (maybe 2 weeks). I haven't had these bumps that you talk of so I can't help you there. Did have the sandpaper texture on my forehead and noticed only very minor skin flaking/peeling around the bridge of the nose. I will say that after one treatment all my minor scarring on my cheeks as well as small wrinkles vanished but after a month since my first session some of the scars have come back. I think the swelling is what caused some of them to appear gone. I do plan on having more sessions and would have had another by now if the doctors office didn't have to reschedule me.
I hope things work out for you.
Chris
