=/
Uhmmmm.. it usually goes away within a week or 2 depending on how bad it is. If you can, try putting acne medication on it to dry it up. (loads of BP, or something..). That seems to always help me. xD

That never even crossed my mind. I do have some of Dans bp from when I was on the regimen. I can try putting some there! Thank you for the brilliant idea. Ill update you on my progress. Oh and also, can the ear pimple be washed with aqua glycolic cleanser using a q tip?

Another thing you can do is to apply a warm moist compress on it.....wet a washcloth with warm water and hold it on there for a few minutes.....do this several times a day.....it should bring it to a head faster.....

Thank you for your feedback Sarah! I think what I will do is use the bp. I dont want the q tip to irritate it. I cant use AG and bp, probably not a smart idea.
That reminds me. Maybe I will use the hot tea bag compress on it. I will wrap it around a paper towel. I dont like to use regular towels. They irritate my sensitive skin and spread bacteria.
What are you doing for the holiday Sarah?

But . . .
I get loads of ear acne. I don't think my ears have been clear since age 12. I use all my topical medications on them regularly and spot treat hard-core if I get a nasty one. (As in put a glob of bp on the sucker.) I actually really like frozen tea bags. I put them on uncovered, so besides the ice taking down the inflammation, the caffeine from tea can constrict the blood vessels in the area. Hell, maybe the antioxidants might do something magical, too . . .
(The tea bag melts much faster and doesn't feel as cold as a regular ice cube (maybe since it's not all water?), so it's not painful.)

I would get ear breakouts occasionally. There really isn't anything different about them than regular back or facial acne other than they are in a more enclosed space and therefore more difficult to treat and usually hurt more because of the tender ears - ugh.
What I found that really helps is including my ears, behind my ears, down my neck a bit with all my skincare products. When I wash my face, etc. I just kinda use the products on fingertips in my ears. This is no different than when you're showering and you're soaping up your ears to clean them. Of course you don't go into the ear canal but just kinda scoot around the ear itself and then, if needed, apply your medications. I even use moisturizer on my earlobes to keep them all soft for pretty earrings lol. Any skin with oil glands is capable of breaking out so just use a little product around them and treat them like any other breakout you would get. HORRIBLE sleeping on them too - ouch!
P.S.... Gotta love moms willing to attack the nasty ear pimple!!!

My ear pimple is feeling much better. Its in a very weird spot. Its inside my ear. Let me see if I can post a pic of the ear and find out what that part of the ear is called.
lol yeah, usually I dont want my mom to touch my pimples. I refuse to let her touch the ones on my back and neck. She hurts me. She says she doesnt use her nails but I swear she does! Not to mention, using the nails causes scarring.
http://www.hearingcenteronline.com/anatomy.shtml Okay its part four. Its called the crest of the helix. That is where my pimple is. Its right on a piece of cartiledge inside my ear, the part where the ear curves, it that makes sense. It hurt like a bitch and feels much better today. My mom did an excellent job using that tweezerman! I always thought that was only supposed to be used on blackheads. Apparently, I am wrong.

LOVE that you care for the wonderful residents of the nursing home and just had to tell you so! So many people in our society don't value or take care of our elderly. In other cultures their age means wisdom and are looked up to for that. Kudos to you for taking time out of your busy life to spend it with people who don't have anyone to visit them/talk to them/show them they ARE important. How lonely it must be to never get any visitors, especially around the holidays.
When I was around 12 or so I used to go right down the street where I lived to 'candy stripe' at the nursing home. I volunteered there for many years until I moved away. One thing in particular that stood out in my mind was just how smiley and happy the residents were to have me read to them, play a game with them, just sit and chat with them. But, one elderly man kinda freaked me out because he always would roll up to me in his wheelchair rather quickly and go right for my long hair to just touch it lol. It used to scare me a bit but one of the nurses explained he thought I was his daughter or granddaughter or someone, who had long hair as well, and it calmed him down... still scared me!
Take care and keep up all your good posts around these message boards. I think you have lots of encouraging ideas and suggestions and sheer silliness for everyone who asks for help!

Im glad you and your daughter think Im funny
I really do love most of my patients. I dont love all of them, but in the unit I work in, I do love most of them. I have sixty patients in my unit (there are four units and about 300 residents, a lot). I am a regular in that station. I told one of my patients shes my idol and she got teary. She often cries of happiness. She had been crying because she didnt get any visitors. Shes wonderful. One time she told me shes been an orphan since age eleven
A lot of people visited their families in the nursing home today but its still not the same as celebrating at home. One lady from El Salvador (Doreens roommate), her relative brought his guitar. Apparently, hes been playing it since he was young. He played Feliz Navidad and some other Christmas songs. It was great and Im sure it made Doreen happy!
Thatd creap me out too if someone touched my hair (regardless of age). Theres this patient, he has been flirting with me. I HATE it! Hes almost 80 and Im almost 24. Im sorry but that is SICK! I am not racist by any means but he is from afghanistan. He is alert, not demented. One would think he knows better than that

Its gone now! It was there on Christmas Day and I showed it to my mom. She took a tool and popped the sucker perfectly! I put some of Dans bp and boom, it was gone in three days!
